When I was actively involved in a charity I used to carry a donation form for said charity folded in my wallet for just such occasions. By the time I finally had a chugger say she'd reciprocate, the sodding form fell apart when I opened it.

Throwaway comments do not a saviour make. But this is the problem with the two new movies, exemplified by that bollocks in THE LAST JEDI about using mind tricks to lift rocks. "Hey! That thing we jokingly mentioned in passing, earlier? No? Well, hellOHHHH anyway!"

Luke throwing away the light sabre, his overall attitude - basically that’s where he’s at
Didn't work for me simply because the movies at no point depict Luke as being the acme of Jediliness. His fall from grace felt anti-dramatic because it seemed an obvious ruination given his weakness as a character in EMPIRE and RETURN. I doubt this was THE LAST JEDI's intention but I can see it being justified in hindsight.

As much as I detest THE LAST JEDI I must concede it's a fitting tribute for Luke. He was crap a Jedi despite a promising start but he came through in the end. Bit like his dad.

Formulaic but fun. And probably the best Bond film since THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH.
Sadly, my local Cineworld remains clueless when it comes to picture contrast. I very nearly walked out during the jungle rescue because it was an effort sometimes to discern just what the fuck was happening. Ditto the casino and the subsequent car chase. And the various cave-based ceremonies. Likewise the final battle on the train track. So basically anything underground or at night. Which pretty much amounted to half the fucking movie.
In fact, now that I think about it, one of the things the Marvel movies tend to have in common is how well put-together the action set-pieces are — it’s incredibly rare to not know who everyone is, where they are and what they’re doing, even in big, multi-character action sequences. I’ve seen plenty of big budget action films in recent where that very much isn’t the case.

We were each raised (though perhaps some hatched) and shaped by our families, our community and our national standards. That goes back to again, responsibility in raising our own and responsibility for community. So really us (the barbarian savages) and you folks from the UK are speaking totally different languages from totally different perspectives... Besides the fact the conversation is difficult with the British not speaking English, by not having the same values and viewpoints raised so differently, it makes finding a mutual resolution difficult at best.
Outside perspective . . . bad.
