Peace is a lie, there's only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

In what universe do Skyfall and Les Miserables qualify as 'British' films?

Even Dredd isn't strictly a British film, but a UK/Indian/SA co-production...

Steve Green

I guess based on the production company?

DNA, Working Title and Eon are UK based.

I don't know what the specific criteria are, but I imagine it's sufficiently hazy so they can have big names rather than anything solely UK funded.

Well skyfall was filmed at Pinewood ( the scenes with sets ) so I guess that's why it's classed as british ?

A lot of Star Wars or Alien/Aliens was filmed in the UK, I doubt location makes a difference.

I suspect it's a fairly elastic definition though.

Cpt. America: The First Avenger also was shot in and around Salford.

Part of Dredd was filmed in North London and I was just down the road when those scenes were being shot  :'(
