Classifieds / Dredd in the Daily Star weekly
20 December, 2016, 01:32:38 AM
About 1980 I first saw Judge Dredd in a Saturday edition of the Daily Star, when it was only Saturday that he appeared. That led to me graduating to buying 2000 AD. I cut some strips out, saved them, but it's time I cleaned up, and I was going to throw them out, until I thought there might be some enthusiast who'd like them. There's 31 strips, and though, being newspaper, they show signs of age, there still quite presentable. To show images here is impracticable, because of the sites size limit, so I've put a couple, here,

Some are the early b&w strips. If anyone wants to offer me a few pounds for them, let me know.

Creative Common / Questions and problems
06 April, 2016, 01:36:58 AM
The Mighty Tharg has decreed that there shall be a blog to which  any may submit questions, or seek help with problems, and that as he's to busy to answer himself, I, Rogue Earthlet, shall be given the honour of dispensing wisdom to the galaxy. The blog can be seen here, http://rogueearthlet.blogspot.co.uk/ and to get things going here's the first communication received, from Splurdge+1, of the planet Glogg.

Greetings Rogue Earthlet!
After saving my groats for millennia I've finally managed to purchase a Bloggs Mark 2 Fusion Powered Superbasherupperer, which tests show slaughter more innocents per buck than any other weapon of mass destruction! Well, as you can imagine, I'm eager to try out my new toy, and I thought earth would be a good place to play mindless destruction with it, as earthlets are a pretty boring bunch and nobody would miss a few, but I thought it best to ask permission of his mightiness first. I think it'll be okay, as I'm not intending to exterminate many of earth's inhabitants, just a few million.
Splurdge+1

Rogue's answer.
Well, Splurdge+1, I fully understand your desire to commit mass mayhem, but I'm afraid nuking earthlets cannot be allowed. Only a few of them are boring, and some are actually quite interesting. Have you considered playing with your new toy on the planet Zragg?

Creative Common / Super Heroes in Mega City One
23 February, 2016, 11:39:11 PM
There was once a Dredd story titled 'Fairly Hyper-man', about a guy with the powers of Super Man who came to Mega City 1 and used his super powers to arrest criminals. Obviously this didn't go down well with Justice Dept, as they don't like citizens arrests. I think most heroes of comicdom, should they visit the mega city, would also get into trouble when they used their special powers. For example, Super Man's x-ray vision would probably be an unlicensed, therefore illegal, emission of radiation, and Wonder Woman's invisible aircraft would be an air traffic hazard, so they'd definitely be headed for the Cubes! Anyone got any other ideas of how ell known heroes could upset Dredd and his judicial colleagues?

Off Topic / The thrill power of politics

Now that the election campaign is well under way, even if unofficially, it's time Tharg the Candidate, (of the Green party, obviously) answered some searching questions.
Firstly, if re-elected to the Command Module, will you take the Galactic Groat into the Universal Single Currency, known as the UERO?
Secondly, will you try and bribe the squaxerette by raising interest rates, in 2000AD, even higher?
And most importantly, is there any truth in the allegation that your campaign is financed by the plastic cup industry? The public has a right to know!

Welcome to the board / Greetings!

As I've been here awhile I should have already said hi, but never mind, here's a little poem to introduce myself. (additional dialogue by William Wordsworth)

I wandered lonely as a cloud and was feeling rather ill,
when I saw some golden copies of the galaxy's greatest comic,
and everything was brill!
