I know this isn't wildly obscure but Pulp's 'His 'n' Hers' has  been gathering dust on my cd rack for years and having just dug it out again it sounds as fresh and brilliant as it ever did

That album was really well produced which is part of the reason it has lasted so well. Its actually the only album of theres that i like.I am a bit of a geek or a nerd when it comes to producers and mixing and production values.

I found this track quite by accident and i clicked on it out of curiosity and i cant stop listening to it.Its very simple and repetitive and it works really well.I think they were an Irish band around in the late 80s but i dont know anything else about them.

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Psychocandy.

I love the everything about it especially the production as it has this Phil Spector-ish quality about it and its one of the first alternative/indie records i ever bought whiich was in 1985.

Drokking since 1972

Peace is a lie, there's only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

Having not listened to any music since the onset of children, I was pleasently suprised to find a box of cassettes when I was looking through comics. Brought a couple in the car and played(yes my car is that old). One stood out, great song. A House, Endless Art.

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Psychocandy.

I was always a Darklands man, myself. Never understood how the Mary Chain never got co-opted into the goth movement, TBH -- Darklands is, officially, GAF.

Going to have to dust off all my New Model Army stuff in advance of their 30th anniversary tour in October. Rather looking forward to it, given that their 20th anniversary gig at Rock City ranks as one of my favourite gigs of all time.

I'm sure I've said before that there's a point at a great gig where the music becomes a solvent and the individual dissolves, literally loses the sense of self within this great, heaving mass... in this case, you actually could feel the floor rise and fall under 1500 united footfalls, and by the time they played 'Vengeance'...

I love me some live music.

Cheers!

Did you ever hear the alternate version which was on one of their B-sides where they namechecked all female artists, writers and musicians?

I remember that one, alright.  Great video too, full of hidden messages in the background
