Today I purchased the Prog from WH Smiths in Huntingdon, using the self service till, as I do almost every week. However the routine was slightly different today as when I scanned the barcode a message popped up saying approval was needed...apparently the Prog is age restricted and you need to be over 18 to buy it! Never had this happen before and I assume it was some database quirk...but I just wondered if anyone else had encountered this?

I'm looking for the 2015 2000AD Free Comic Book Day issue.
I'll pay a reasonable amount to cover postage etc.
did anyone happen to get hold of an extra issue? Unfortunately this years FCBD clashed with my daughters last football match of the season and by time I could make it to my local comic shop they had run out :(

General / Who is the first perp that Dredd ever arrested?
26 February, 2015, 10:58:13 AM
This question has been asked on the Mega Collection facebook page today and while I'm fairly sure that they mean who is the first perp that we ever see Dredd arrest...have we ever been shown Dredd's first arrest? I'm sad to say that I haven't yet read Origins (started it on the train to work this morning), but does Dredd arrest anyone during the flashback scenes?

Classifieds / Wanted - 2000AD Prog 1771
03 September, 2014, 04:18:50 PM
Anyone have a copy of 2000AD Prog 1771 that they no longer require? I'd like to buy one; I'm currently working my way backwards through the Progs year by year but so far this one has managed to be quite elusive...

I'm not bothered which cover variant or even if it comes with the poster (although this would be nice); I'd just like a copy to read as I prefer paper to digital :)

Thanks for looking :)

General / First Damage Report
19 August, 2014, 05:34:05 PM
Having seen it being mentioned in posts and reviews for quite some time, it was only about a year ago that I finally found out what the Damage Report was. Yeah a bit slow on the uptake I know...but now I'm curious; in which Prog did the Damage Report first appear?

General / Black Siddha Megazine Reprint
06 March, 2014, 10:50:45 AM
Another question about reprints, to help me catch up, as I can't find the answer on Barney :(

As the next Megazine reprint is Black Siddha 2: Kali Yuga was the first story, Bad Karma, reprinted with the Megazine? If so which issue did it come with? I'm trying to track this down to read before the second volume...

Thanks again for your help :)

General / Flesh - Getting Caught Up...
27 September, 2013, 12:59:09 PM
OK so I have more noob questions, this time about Flesh, that I'm hoping you all can clear up for me :)

Jumping on from prog 1850 I haven't found it too hard going having missed what has come before in four of the five currently running stories. Flesh, however, has me completely baffled and I feel like I've dropped in halway through an arc, rather than at the start of a new one. So I'm looking to get up to speed, so that hopefully I have some vague idea as to what is going on in the next few progs...

I've never read any Flesh before, so I had a look on both Barney and Wikipedia and it looks like I have these stories to find:

"Flesh, Book 1" 2000 AD #1–19, 1977
"Untitled" 2000AD Summer Special 1977
"The Buffalo Hunt" 2000AD Annual 1978, 1977
"Flesh, Book 2" 2000 AD #86–99, 1978–1979
"Legend of Shamana, Book 1" 2000 AD #800–808, 1992
"Legend of Shamana, Book 2" 2000 AD #817–825, 1993
"Chronocide" 2000 AD #973–979, 1996
"Flesh 3000AD" 2000 AD #1034, 1997
"Hand of Glory" 2000 AD #1526, February 2007
"Texas" 2000 AD #1724–1733, March–May 2011
"Midnight Cowboys" 2000 AD #1774–1785, 2012
"Badlanders" 2000 AD #1850–ongoing, 2013

A search on Amazon revealed 'Flesh: The Dino Files', which looking at the reviews, seems to contain Book 1, Book 2 and Texas. So now the questions this raises:

1) Does this graphic novel contain any of the other stories listed above (I'm hoping that at the very least it includes the 1977 Annual and Summer Special episodes)?
2) Obviosly not all of the above stories are included (due to page count), but have they been collected anywhere?
3) Why does 'Flesh: The Dino Files' skip everything between Book 2 and Texas, is this stuff no longer relevant?

Thanks again for allowing me to mine the vast knowlege that is collectively stored within this forum :)

General / Beyond Zero
23 September, 2013, 09:27:31 PM
I wanted to post this in the Meg 340 thread, but for some reason I cannot post in the spoilers section (possible because I haven't been a member of the forum long enough?).

Meg 340 was my first ever Megazine and I really enjoyed everything in there, even though I've missed slit if previous story (incidentally any one know, off the too of their heads, how far into back issues I'd have to go to reach a jumping on point?). But the real highlight for me was the Beyond Zero floppy. It was SO much fantastic cheese :D It was mentioned that Night Zero (did I get that right?) was reprinted a few months ago and I want to get my hands in that, anyone able to tell me which issue that it was bundled with? Thanks :)

General / In addition to the Case Files...
16 September, 2013, 03:48:35 PM
Hello Everyone, I've been reading the Judge Dredd Case Files since volume 1 was released (although I've gotten a bit behind recently) and these have been prefect for me; I'm the sort of person who has to read a story from the beginning. However when Necropolis came along I realised that not all relevent stories are included in the Case Files (normally because they are not actual Dredd stories, which makes perfect sense). Now I have Case Files 1-16, Restricted Files 1 and 2 and Psi Files 1 (and will continue picking up all of these). I have bought The Dead Man and America as those are the two stories that I know are missing. They add a lot of value to the collection and tie in deirectly with plots in the Case Files. Now my questions are: 'have I missed anything so far?' and 'is there anything else that I need to be picking up to go with plots in Case Files 17 -21?'. I figured this forum (I have been lurking here for a number of years) is the best place to get answers to these questions, so any info would be very much appreciated :) Thanks, in advance, for your help :)
