Hello Mark, and welcome.

I'm at work so can't see any pictures on this thread- so I don't even know why I'm looking at it!

Thankyou His Lordship, that's exactly what I meant..at least you're still here, Mark. Wondered where you'd got to.

Here we go:

I did say it's only protean so far

Hello Mark, that's coming along nicely.

Welcome to the board.

You're damn lucky to have a mentor of Mike's calibre to look to for advice.

UV painted the teeth, partway through UV painting the head.

Actually, rather than repeatedly posting, I'll post the link: http://www.markfiend.com/images/index.php?folder=rojaws

If anyone's interested, you can keep up with my progress there. :geek:

That's coming along brilliantly!

I quite like seeing things develop on this thread, but often don't bother following links. Just let us know when there's a significant development and I'll look in.

Thanks Dan (If I can call you Dan? )
Anyhoo, I've made the teeth look even more manky: rust toward the points and greenish grime at the "gums". Head temporarily removed to show teeth in full disgusto-mode

Link as previous post.

I found a great UV painting tutorial here

That's Mr Dontdare to you!

Nice teeth. I took a peek at that tutorial but when I read sentences like:
"After laying out a good set of UV's (in this case nothing but a planar map) I render an ambient occlusion pass inside 3DSMAX.
all I actually hear is:
After laying out a good set of rhubarb (in this nothing but a rhubarb rhubarb) I rhubarb a rhubarb rhubarb rhubarb inside the rhubarb

I'm glad there are people like you and Mike Carroll out there who know how to make pretty things to entertain the likes of me, but it means nowt to me - may as well be witchcraft!
