Events / KAPOW Vs. Bristol con 2012 -which one??
14 November, 2011, 08:51:06 PM
So it looks like KAPOW and Bristol con will be one week apart in May 2012...

If I'm coming from overseas (and I am!) and can only commit to do one, which is the one to go for? I'm looking to meet lots of folks from my artist alley spot, and not worrying about editors (too much!) this time around.

Any input is appreciated!

11 November, 2010, 05:18:27 AM
Hi all,

I'll be answering art and comic related questions every month for the the next 12,(yikes!) and thought you might enjoy reading some of the answers. This time out, its Alan Grant's script and how its used to launch the rest of the story creation.

http://gibsonquarter27art.blogspot.com/2010/11/ask-artist-on-11th.html

Please LMK what you think, and ask away if there is anything you'd like to ask me for the next time!

Books & Comics / HOLMES INC. Jolly good show old chap!
19 September, 2010, 10:27:13 PM

Holmes INC is now officially out!

I drew up 8 pages in this one, and they were inked up by Ty Templeton, so needless to say, I'm quite happy with how this project turned out. Sample pages can be found on my recent blog post here http://gibsonquarter27art.blogspot.com/2010/08/holmes-inc.html and the further previews can be found on the Holmes inc Website over here http://holmesinccomic.wordpress.com/

If you have any trouble getting one, or want it signed, just give me a holler and I'll help you out!

The hype goes like this:
"  A new generation of comic book artists and writers have come together to introduce a new twist on Sherlock Holmes mythology in...HOLMES INCORPORATED!

The descendants of Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft and Watson are alive and sleuthing in modern times, serving Queen and country, battling
villains and solving mysteries as the agents of HOLMES INCORPORATED! A professional fighter dies mysteriously out of the ring? A century-old cold case left in Sherlock's files is solved? The family will need to use all their skills and abilities to solve these mysteries and others!

Visit Holmes Inc. for a sneak peak at the HUGE 52 page first issue extravaganza!

Holmes Inc. is a publication of the TORONTO CARTOONISTS WORKSHOP (TCW) featuring characters created by Ty Templeton (Stig's Inferno, Batman Adventures, Howard the Duck, The Simpsons). Also acting as editor on the project, Ty handpicked each of the creator teams – all alumni of the TCW – many of whom will be seeing their craft in print form for the first time.

Hi gang,

Wasted #5 is now out, and I'm happy to report that I've got 5 1/2 pages in there..4 of them are my newest and best work yet, IMHO  ;)

Please look for it at U.K. newsagents or over at the badpress website http://www.badpressltd.com/

If you need/want more detail, please check out my blog for all the juicy details of art teams, dirty little secrets, etc. http://gibsonquarter27art.blogspot.com/

So Wasted #4 is now out, and I have my copy in hand.

Sigh.

They used a few pages of OLD art that I've now redrawn and no one was suppossed to ever see. For the full story and the REAL scans, please check out my blog, as it explains all. If you wanna see how an artist can 'grow' in a few years, pick up the mag and compare the old to the new. You'll notice a BIG difference!

Oh, and there's a Guy Davis drawing of 'Johnny K' up there too.  :D

Hi gang,

At the risk of bing a hardcore pimp, I'd like to let folks know that an original pice of my art is on sale at ebay, and all proceeds raise $ for the Shuster awards, a great organization that supports comics artists .

Please check it out over here:

thanks!

Just a quick heads up to say that Wasted #3 is now out. I've got 6 pages of 'War on Drugs' art in there, written by Alan Grant. Johnny K gets high in this one! A sample page is up on my blog.

Please grab this issue at your newsagents if you see it. Simon Bisley did the cover, and it looks like this.. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_hV2G9zm_Ja4/S3WEXGmgp4I/AAAAAAAAAIQ/oNJwlFQPgw8/s1600-h/Wasted+%233+cover-large.jpg
