Hey folks, I promised a guide to Bambaland and 3A when Mongrol was imminent, so here it is. Apologies for the short notice, but at least I've posted most of this stuff before.
Mongrol approaches!

More Bambaland info...
Things to know about Bambaland / 3A:
+ Bambaland (http://www.bambalandstore.com/ (http://www.bambalandstore.com/)) is the 'sales arm' of 3A.
+ Register with Bambaland: get an account, get all your details set up ahead of time - it would be a real pain to have to do this at the last minute.
+ Bambaland sales are paid for with PayPal and only PayPal. Again, set this up to save yourself any stress later on.
+ The duration of the sale is unknown, but I'd expect Mongrol to be up for a minimum of 24 hours and Ash may have something else in mind for this, so there could even be a longer sale period. However, to be on the safe side, get in early (or early-ish)
+ Bambaland sales are all preorders; you'll end up paying up front and things will generally ship some months later (free worldwide shipping is included in all Bambaland prices - that won't be the case with most retailers). I'd hope to see Mongrol in person in June / July, but that may depend on 3A workload and Mongrol's popularity.
+ There will be a 'black' version (unseen so far) of Mongrol available from Bambaland alongside the 'regular' version (I know, I know...). Same price as the regular, but won't be available from retailers later on.
+ Mongrol will hit retail (some months down the line, I expect) and for UK folks, I'd recommend One Sixth Bruce as a great retailer choice (http://www.onesixthbruce.co.uk/ (http://www.onesixthbruce.co.uk/)). UK-based, great service and a layaway option for many more costly items, allowing people to pay in installments (remember that you'll have to cough up for shipping from inline retailer, though).
Any questions, just give me a shout and I'll do what I can.
:)
So... 09:00 in Hong Kong is 01:00 GMT, right? (Or have I go that the wrong way around?)

No, that sounds right (and you can check the countdown timer on the blog I posted a link to above).
For Tharg, we got a UK-friendly drop time (0900 GMT, I think) but it looks like business as usual now. Still, there should be no need for a mad 0100 GMT scramble for Mongrol unless you want one (a mad scramble, that is - Mongrol should be up for at least 24h and hopefully a lot longer).
First person to post a picture of Tharg and Mongrol making sweet thrillpowered LURVE is the real winner in all this.
If I actually had that much dosh to my name, or any legal way to get it, I'd be in like a flash. That Mongrol is a thing of beauty.
How fucking much? Thank god I've never been into stuff you can't read.
My loft is full of stuff as it is but at least 90% of it I can read.
It does look good but I'm not starting down the collectable road at this late stage no matter how good it is 8-?

Naw, his face is red to start with and remains red right through Talbot-era Nemesis. It doesn't go yellow till that Bisley cover for 'The Black Hole' (and thereafter the Kev Walker stuff.)

That one is nice, but I agree. First is better.
For a repaint, I guess I'd have preferred one of the other paint alternatives we've seen in the actual comics, but that's speaking form the point of view of a 2000 AD reader. No doubt from a sales perspective, black sells. (Although it looks more like dark brown to me but that's often the case with so called 'black'. Seriously, check out black panthers at the zoo! They're rarely actually black!)
The Mess cannister actually shows up better with the new version though.
Stands up really well against the classic McMahon look...
Monday soon! :)

I love the McMahon design on this.
I can't really justify that much on an action figure personally, though it looks very tempting. I imagine serious figure collectors will snap them up, I have spent 'nearly' as much on bits of plastic in the past.
I think ThreeA are sending Pat Mills one, is Mick McMahon getting one as well? Does he get any official credit on it?
Bodes well for a classic McMahon Dredd? I'd definitely have to shell out for that one.
Nice work.
I'm hoping for Ezquerra's Dredd rather than McMahon's.

I think Mick is getting one (according to Rufus); great to hear Pat's being taken care of - he can add Mongrol to the Tharg we sent him :)
McMahon Dredd hopefully on the cards... Ash is a big fan.

He should do both.
Well I want a flary-helmet, big-boot McCarthy Dredd. And his Brit-Cit counterpart.
Well, tonight's the night! Typically my boy went to a gig last night, fell over and had us in casualty till 1.30am, then the little un had a crappy night's sleep and had me up at 6am.
It's gonna be matchsticks under the eyes tonight as I'm getting no sympathy from Mrs Pete who doesn't understand why I'm staying up till, quote "God knows what time spending God knows how much on a toy on a work night!" She may have a point :D
There should be no hurry with Mongrol, Pete - should be up for at least 24h... Maybe longer if this holds true:
"While most threeA toys go on sale for limited periods, Mongrol's ordering window is to be left open – giving fans of both 2000 AD and stunning-looking toys a much better chance to get their hands on this fantastic piece."

Are you 3AA, Pete?
QuoteAre you 3AA, Pete?
Nah, wasn't it about $150? I know this is great value for 3A collectors but I'm only going to get the 2000AD stuff. With the length of time between figures, I doubt discount-wise I'd have made my money back.
As for the 24 hour window, I wanna Black Hole version, I think he's way cooler! I'll be there at 1am dammit!
Again. I wish I had the money. Did you say 1/6th bruce lets you pay in installments ming?
And also, this is a very stupid question, there is nothing on the bambaland store website, I'm assuming they only put stuff up when something new comes out.
$250 is about £150 or something at the moment right? Well, if one sixth bruce lets you pay in installments I hope he picks up mongrol. I think if there is one to really splah out on fore me it would be dredd, or Johnny alpha, or rogue, or hammerstein, or joe pineapples. :(
Yeah, $250 is about £150, although where are these shipped from? If they're imported, you'll also likely get hit for import duty (or at least VAT at 20%).
Yeah, you might get snagged by customs, you might not.
I'll check this out at 3A, but if anyone is hankering after Mongrol I can pick up a second and I'll take payment by installments for the actual cost to me, but of course you'd have to add on postage from me to you.
I'll check on that...anyone interested, it's first come first served!

Things only appear at Bambaland when the sale is on, so 0900 Hong Kong time will see the appearance of Mongrol.
As for One Sixth Bruce, I'm pretty sure he'll be stocking Mongrol, so email him (onesixthbruce(at)gmail.com) or send him a message via Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/OneSixthBruce/329989274584) and get some details... Likely to be some months before retailers get there Mongrol stock, but maybe not that long (supposed to be shipping from Bambaland in May).

Customs charges vary; some get hit, some don't - one thing about 3A: the declared value on the box is always helpful! ;)
I see Commission King is up, I wonder why

Gah, the black one's still for sale, I coulda gone to bed early!
Oh well, it was exciting anyway and I got to complete Killzone 3 while the clock counted down :D
That'll teach ya
Just got both after a lovely nights sleep...........
Just regular for me. Shadow version now confirmed for all the ABCs, I think.
Might be worth pointing out that there's a set amount slated, once they're gone that's is. So if anyone is on the fence...

Hell, what good's disposable income if you can't treat yourself to a new war robot now and then? Bought an' paid for - and I didn't have to stay up 'til 1am to do it!

Don't forget that Mongrol will be available from retailers - probably some months down the line; retailers generally get their 3A stuff once the Bambaland orders have shipped out.
In the first post, I linked to One Sixth Bruce, a great UK retailer who will almost certainly stock Mongrol and who offers a layaway option for more expensive items like this.
"OneSixthBruce LayAway Payment Option
OSB LayAway is currently offered on most figures
We are going to try out a new way of purchasing figures at OneSixthBruce that will hopefully help some of our customers.
Normally we charge the full amount when orders are placed, but on selected figures we will offer a deposit payment service.
Here's a simple explanation:
Figure A = £129.99 + £10.00 UPS delivery(UK) = £139.99
The deposit payment at time of order would be £65.00. Then when the figure is about to arrive in our warehouse the customer would pay the remainder of £74.99. We hope that spreading the cost like this will alleviate the pressure of paying one sum at the time the order is placed. If customers do wish to pay the full amount at the time of order, this option is also still available to them.
However, in the event of cancelation, we regret that the deposit will NOT be refunded."http://www.onesixthbruce.co.uk/osb-layaway-2-w.asp
Just checked, and Mongrol's up on OSB NOW as a preorder, with the layaway option available!
If you want this option, go go go...
http://www.onesixthbruce.co.uk/threea---2000ad---abc-warriors---mongrol-558-p.asp
:D
Wow, that's a brilliant deal. Less than a tenner more than I paid with the option to pay the other half later on, AND no chance of being stung by customs. I wish I'd gone that route as opposed to sticking the normal coloured dude on my credit card!
Should've gone with your instincts Pete ;)
I'm trying to convince myself not to get one, arguing that if you wait for all seven then at the rate of one every six months you will have to wait another three years - and that assumes they are released in order.
Still, he is very cool.
Buy it.
:D
M
Sigh! I. Need. A. Job.
Well, I might end up getting this from OSB
Or should I wait for hammerstein?

Or should I wait for hammerstein?
No! Unless you prefer Hammerstein and a character and have to choose... Will probably end up being a similar price (I think Ash said he'd be slightly taller than Mongrol), but the other ABCs might weigh in slightly less if they're a bit smaller or simpler figures (probably not).
I am so glad I am not single otherwise I would have opted for two of each instead on none.

True enough...
I'll see if I can dig up any news on the shipping schedule.
June'll do me, though. Birthday coming up; will hit 4-0 and one more box to open wouldn't hurt (unless I drop it on my head).
:)
Excellent :D
Yeah, that would be great, thanks - planning a holiday in June, so it might be an idea for me to ask the shipper to hold off it's going to be then.
Some 3A shipping dates for May just popped up, and Mongrol wasn't among them, so it's looking more like June for the big beast, unfortunately. Not the end of the world, and I'd rather have him ship late and be done right than sooner and be a rush job.
Any more news, I'll post it here. (Well, Mongrol news - other stuff in the general 3A thread.)
Ash has started with Twitter, so bits of news pop out there from time to time. I don't do Twitter but summaries are posted in the main 3A news threads (http://www.threeaonline.com/forum/index.php?topic=1415.msg239457;boardseen#new) and 2000AD news is always picked up in the general 2000AD thread (http://www.threeaonline.com/forum/index.php?topic=37.0).
Anyway...
Ash in Twitter yesterday : "Not long till Mongrol ships from 3A, for the handful that ordered, your gonna love it, a classic robot !!!"
:)
It looks there will also be another 2000AD figure coming this Autumn by the looks of it (or maybe earlier, who knows?), but we don't know whether it's another ABC Warrior or something else for now... I'll post any further non-Mongrol updates in the general 3A thread.
"For the handful that ordered?" Hmmm, that doesn't sound too encouraging...
Let's have DREDD or at least Hershey next!
As for the handful Pete, let's not go down that route ;)

I wouldn't worry too much. Some of the stuff doesn't shift, but they still make more. The Mongrol body and feet was reused for another (mental) fig just recently which sold pretty well it would seem, so as long as they can find other uses for moulds the costs are covered! And a small run means less time to shipping :)
I predict when Mongrol hits a lot of people will start to take a lot more notice...
M.
What was made from the body and feet ? couldnt see it on 3a..( not med-ex?)
Yeah, Ankou Ex - these mental looking fellas...

Maybe a bit tongue-in-cheek... Mongrol probably sold less than the average 3A figure, being a bit of a niche thing to begin with, but Ash said at the time he was happy with the sales numbers (which is what matters, really).

I'm pretty certain Ankou Ex body
does not use any parts (that we can see) from Mongrol. Feet are completely different and the lower body at least has a chest plate; I think Ankou Ex will turn out smaller than Mongrol, but we'll see. I'll see if I can get someone to ask Ash specifically on Twitter and report back.

Had never encountered 3A before the Tharg (and apologies to FatboyDale but found them really excellent to deal with) so was wondering - everything else they do - its their own / ashley's own 'verse' (ie non-licensed material)?
Would imagine a mongrol on the shelves of every Forbidden Planet would do advertising wonders for both 2000ad and 3A - I've no interest in Star Wars or Superheroes but always find my eye going to some of the stunning toys/models/whatevers they have on display while waiting to pay.

Good for you, Pete. I have the 1/6 version of that, and he's a beast. Even in 1/12 scale he'll still take up a fair bit of space (the rocket launcher's enormous).
This sale is a bit of an experiment...
The idea is to have a few things available through Bambaland for up to a month. Stuff might get pulled early if sales are crazy (there's only so much capacity for making these things) but hopefully this trial will work out and maybe some other (2000AD?) figures might get the same treatment, rather than just the 24hours-or-a-lot-less we usually see.
Likely to be more colourways of Heavy Brambles (and other stuff?) going up over the next few days. Bambaland is also getting an overhaul and redesign this week as well, so may be offline for a bit.

I keep asking for an update (and I'm not alone) so hopefully Ash will get his finger out sooner rather than later. I expect we'll get a 'shipping next week' kind of update out of the blue (hopefully THIS WEEK!), along with an apology for the delay.
I know Mongrol's late, but I'd still rather have him done properly than done fast.
Will post any new here as soon as I get some.

No excuses now, 3A have over a year...
Mongrol looking good though..................
3A have just announced a few big, important licensing deals (Microman, Halo) and have shown some samples of 1/12 Star Wars figures that were commissioned (not licensed, just some commissioned samples I think) which might mean a very busy time for Ash and 3A. Together with the Popbot film that's underway and all the other stuff going on, it's mind-boggling that Ash still has time to paint these days.
I'm still hoping that once Mongrol starts shipping, the next release will be announced and then the line will start to gain some momentum... Will take the general talk to the other thread though.
Looking great... hopefully August then
Wow, that does look good. Amazing how fresh the Mongrol design still looks, and a really great implementation of it too. Come on EuroMillions numbers, only you can save me now...

Dunno. Maybe they couldn't be arsed shipping both versions all the way to SDCC along with the mountain of other stuff they had to take. Not that many 3A figures there for show as far as I can tell, so it's great that Mongrol made an appearance! Reactions seem to be
very positive, and he looks like a lot of fun, big bugger that he is.
Jesus H I want one of these so bad it hurts...

Well the regular Mongrol (i.e. not the black version) is still available from retailers...
For anyone in the UK I really recommend One Sixth Bruce; they do a layaway option whereby you'd pay £60 deposit when you order and then pay the balance (£105, probably plus shipping) when they have a delivery date.

I assumed they'd all sold out at launch - great news , thanks Ming
If they have one there, where are mine?????? :o
Whoa! He's smushingly gorgeous! :o
Roll on August! :D
Yeah, that's great. Amusing to see the bit when the girl holds hands with him. Her hand doesn't look a whole lot bigger! (Of course we couldn't see her so I'm not sure if she was a woman or a little girl but I assumed she was an adult. The chap's hand, while bigger were comparative.)

Oustanding! Great to see regular Mongrol made it along to SDCC after all; looking gooooood.
I've just replied to the Tweet to point out that these aren't statues ;)
Possibly the most articulation I've seen in any 3A figure so far; a lot of work went into these.
Those look ridiculously good!

I'm sooooooo glad I took the plunge and got one of these. To be honest I couldn't really afford it at the time, but with these arsom pics appearing I'd be kicking myself now if I hadn't.
Trouble is the wait is excrutiating! I want to get customising!
The trouble is as well as much as I liked the Tharg I wasn't tempted by Mongrol. now I've seen how good that Mongrol is they could produce a series of Moonrunners figures next and I'd be giving it some serious thought.

With regard to the onesixthbruce site, it's been saying "Currently Unavailble" for as long as I've been checking. Does that mean the preorders are "sold out"? Or have they just not started accepting them yet? Wishing I'd put in for one of the bambaland ones now :(

Doug - I'd imagine you'd be better to phone up Bruce and ask them directly. Don't dilly-dally now, only weeks shipping...
Cheers, I'll give that a go.
I contacted Wai at onesixthbruce and all their preorders for Mongrol are sold out :(
Damn myself for not ordering one at the start. I guess other sources will have some? I remember FP having very expensive ones.
Apologies for multi-posting, can't edit :( I guess we can't be censoring our purest thoughts :D
Looking at Sideshow collectibles, but it's a US order, so postage might be ridiculous, although I suppose he's not as heavy as he is big so might not be that bad.
Anyone know of any other UK ones?
Sod it, I've ordered. I'll just await being screwed by customs and the postie.
There's an Italian company called Vinyl Monster which has still got 'em. I recently bought another ThreeA robot from this company and the service was brilliant.

Does anyone have any contact details for these guys? Have people delt with them much in the past?
The offer kinda seems to good to be true. There only charging £102 for the Mongrol (with free P&P), thats like a really good deal right?
I just wanted to contact the website before I ordered to make sure I didn't get stung with any extra charges.
From what Ming said before the payment is split. I would have another look and see what the final payment is!
Thats why I'm after a contact for the sight (can't find one on there) because there is no mention of split payments that I can see
I'm out tonight Dodsy but I can post an email an address for the company tomorrow.
It states on that link that that's 50% of the price with the same Tobermory paid again when they get it in stock.

Nice. Did you pay for shipping? He refunded shipping charges for the stuff I got from him previously as he just had it redirected from Bambaland (i.e. he just had 3A switch addresses so it went direct to me instead of via him).
Anyway, he seems like a decent fella.

No, it's $250 flat. That covers shipping as well as far as I can tell. Could care less. Just eager to have it. Yeah, he seems cool. He's kept in touch with me with delay updates.

So, as far as I know, Bambaland-ordered Mongrols are now on the way... Hopefully they'll start landing soon (generally Asia gets 3A stuff first, Europe soon after).
RETAIL Mongrols will follow shortly. Wai Man just posted info that One Sixth Bruce orders are about to be shipped to him from Hong Kong, so he'll hopefully have them next week!
If any more info emerges, I'll post it here.
So I could have my Mongrol by this time next week? Aces!
Cool, mine will be a bit longer coming via the States, but he'll be a well travelled Mongrol :D
Yep, just got my invoice for the second half of the payment from onesixthbruce - reckon they'll have them in a week and i'll have mine 2 weeks after :D
Mongrol reported landed in Australia...
It begins!

I can't wait to see the first proper i.e. red and yellow version (;)) appearing somewhere! I expect I'll get mine early next week - seems to always be the Tuesday after the first pics appear.
Anyone round here pick up the Black Hole version only out of interest?

I went Black Hole version, purely for military reasons. Yellow and Orange do not make for good camouflage on the battlefield, even in the future ;)

After a somewhat cynical reaction to start with, I'll admit the Blackhole version has grown on me. Perhaps the fact it's not really a black variant (as described) just more muted. (More rusty. Heh.) It looks rather cracking in fact.
If I had bought one, or if I ever do in future* I'll probably opt for the original though. (Not that I'd likely have much choice, them being even more limited.) I dislike using the word 'iconic' as it's so clichéd. but that would basically be the reason, it's the version from the comics. Or would be if they were coloured.
I'm so looking forward to what they do with Hammerstein next year.
An roll on the small jobbies. Those ones, I might be able to get.
*Likely it will be a good while from now when prices are lower (if ever, if anything the prices might go up with these limited edition things) or I become much richer.

An=and.
And I wasn't even thinking of the phrase 'big jobs' when I wrote the above.
The original (red and yellow) will be the more common one as it was (is, if you're lucky) available from retailers as well as from Bambaland (the 3A sales website)...
Black Hole Mongrol certainly turned out better than I expected; I think this more muted colour version has pretty wide appeal - not just those with a 2000AD background - and will be used on the rest of the ABC Warriors.

It's unlikely you'll get much lower prices, if at all, in the future. These hold value pretty well, if not go up so if you can, get one from a responsible retailer like One Sixth Bruce now - who's got more stock! Saying that the Thargs I've seen up recently (not on Ebay) are around retail...
And yeah, can't wait to see the next Warrior!

Looks like Oz was one of the first stops on the Mongrol World Tour. Package was sent from HK on the 20th September and was delivered on the 23rd - not bad. Thought I'd post a couple of very simple shots here for those interested. I went for the colour version.

Great stuff Kracers!
If he smushes past customs, i'm expecting him Tuesday-a day after the rest of the UK usually.

Don't want to hassle the guy about deliveries. Just curious how far off they are for that batch...

I don't think he would mind you asking Steve. But over at 3A he did mention he has a pick up to make today...

Cheers, sounds promising - I'll give it a week, until it hits October, then start chasing...
Thanks
Steve - I can confirm that OSB picked up his first batch of Mongrols this morning! Hopefully yours will be on it's way to you sharpish! From experience, you'll get an email from them telling you when it's been posted too - I can also guess it'll be very snugly and safely packaged.

Was having a browse just now, when there's a knock on the door and there's the postie straining under the weight of this fella:
Was a bit of a surprise, as i'd forgotten it was on the way.
Anyway, it becomes a bit of a Russian Doll affair, with it opened up to reveal:

Open that, and he's starting to see light:
Before he came out though, i unpacked his chain and the jar with the Mess inside. Which is real cute:
The out he came and... Know its been said here tons of times already but he's chuffin' HUGE.
Thought he was meant to be 1/6th but, if that's true, he's a massive machine compared to my other two in that scale:
Well pleased with him. Looking at pics up till now, i had planned to repaint the eyes, thinking they weren't that great. But, in the flesh/steel, they're a lot better. Just need a couple of coats of gloss varnish to make them actually look like lenses and not the matt plastic sheet they are
Hooray! Excellent stuff Manga! told yez OSB takes no chances on packing! And getting 3A figs in the flesh is the only way to judge the buggers. I thought I might be underwhelmed by Mongrol after the pics and films of SDCC, but Jovus Wept, just amazing in hand.
Ash has let slip that Hammerstein (early next year as far as we know) is taller than Mongrol :o (and Ro-Jaws is smaller, natch). The full set will be just mind blowing!

Likewise - but I'm already coming to like them more now that people's pics are emerging. The only thing I'm going to have to do is repaint his head yellow, which is going to drive me mad otherwise.
Got mine today, what where these runs meant to be 300?

No chance to man handle him yet as he's at my old address, in the safe keeping of my mum but Saturday he will be mine!
Bah, I got my tracking numbers through from ThreeA customer services and it appears that one of my Mongrols is being held by the customs nazis (sounds painful!) Hope it's not my black hole version, that's the one I'm the most excited to see. Buncha cunts!

Now you see just when you think you've pretty much covered all the levels of jealousy this thread can drive you to, you get someone worried that ONE, just ONE of their multitude of these lovely things is being held up...
One of um...
I'm going to find some students to shout at to work this out my system...grumble, mumble, moan, groan
Well, bloke upstairs has signed for mine... saves me a trip to the depot anyway... :D
I'm normally one to sneer at all these toys and whatnot, so I feel a duty to admit that this is the first one I've seen where I can immediately see why you'd want to buy one. Looks well smart.

Cheeses Christ! He's freakin' HUUUUUUUUUGE! I've read so many people posting that but it doesn't really hit home until you have him in your hands just what a MASSIVE fucker he is.
Never bought an action figure before (it always seemed a bit... gay, once you're over a certain age) but so, so, so glad I took the plunge while he was available.
It's a lovely figure - the downside being the scary creaks it makes when posing it...
Going to have to tuck the chain away, I just know at some point I'm going to snag him and he's going to re-enact the assault on Zarnhem and end up in bits.
LARA!!!!!!!!!

The more you pose him, the less he'll creak. His joints are just stiff as he's new, so play away fellas!

Yeah, you want creaks as Pete says it measn the joints are good and tight. I think the legs are on some kind of ratchet thing to keep 'em stable, so they should keep creaking. It is nerve wracking...

This has to be my favourite photo of Mongrol so far. I'd love to see it with Tharg holding the chain like he's got Mongrol on the leash. Everyone submits to the Mighty Tharg!
Seeing both together shows off the quality and thought that have gone into both. I certainly won't wait when they bring out a figure I'd really like to get hold of (Rogue) and wish I could afford to buy the lot!

Mine has still to arrive! Is anyone else still waiting?
Some other folks in the UK are still waiting, apparently. The main thing is that everyone (I think) seems to have dodged customs / import fees :)
Yours should arrive this week, I'd guess - they've been landing for a few days now.
Ming, that could be because they either put (or changed) the value down to $50.............
Be interesting to see if any get damaged and if they have got insurance to cover the replacement.
Marked value doesn't make a difference to speed of delivery, it's wether the C&E fellas take it to the side for a close inspection! That and when the item actually shipped out - the Mongrols appear to have been staggered, which has probably helped a bit with customs. If it's marked low value, it just means the charge from Parcelforce will be lower. And 3A are good with damaged or broken in transit items - replacement parts are free IIRC, but if the item needs shipped back for repairs, I think the owner pays for postage (again, iirc). If something arrived totally fucked, I reckon they'd be approachable. Any queries like that, just email 3A customer service.
Hope you do get yours soon CF, the cellar needs this beast...
M.
Ladies and Gentlemen, a certain parcel arrived last Friday but I couldn't open it until Monday due to a very busy weekend, plus the England game put my body clock right out!
Anyway, I decided to let the fans of Mongrol experience the thrill of opening the parcel with me, so I filmed the occasion and here it is, enjoy!

Don't forget that was filmed on the Monday and it had been in the house since Friday waiting to see the light. Luckily I was very busy over the weekend, so had to delay the opening.

Yeah. Bit of blu-tak's yer only man.

after a quickie look, the box was resealed, and placed in a warm dark place, for his hibernation,.

A LOT more than Mongrol.
Oh I realise that but without knowing RP's price I don't know whether I can divert USD 250 from the uniform fund to grab a Mongrol as well.
Whoops, meant PR not RP. Where's the edit button gone?
A whisker under 2000 AD quid.
Check this out - a member of the 3A forum (Spookyboy) has begun to customise his Mongrol to bring it in line with Clint Langley's version. He's not a member of this forum, so I asked if I could share it with you lot.

Our very own Dark Jimbo has customised his too - you gonna show it Jimbo?
Well, it doesn't bear comparison with Spooky's marvellous version, even half-finished, but my Mongy's closer now to the version I know and love. Still fancy repainting the eyes at some future point, but not sure exactly what style to do them in - I'll probably take my cue from Kev Walker circa Hellbringer, but we'll see...

Just a bump to remind folks that the 1/12 scale Mongrol will be going on sale fairly soon... Not sure of the details of the sale at this point (this weekend or next week sometime, I guess), but as soon as they emerge, they'll be posted here.
This is for the 'regular' (red and yellow) Mongrol; Black Hole is an exclusive for the Hong Kong event going on next week (with a small number going on sale at Bambaland).
Smush, etc.
I was wondering about this! I'll keep my eye out. Considering just how big the other was I'm really curious about this. Hoping it's within my budget! Payday just coming up...
... Oh and subscribed to the 3A newsletter mail-list. Better late than never, says Cliché Chris.
For anyone interested, the sale for baby 1/12 scale Black Hole Mongrol is the 7th May, 9:00am Hong Kong time. No word wether it'll only be available in sets with other 3A gubbins or as singles yet and be warned - this sale will have a bunch of highly sought after other 3A stuff so it'll be frickin mental with little chance of scoring anything. So if your heart is set on it, be prepared!
I don't think I'm going to bother personally - too late/early for a relatively small chance of success. Plus I've got my big red and yellow verison to cuddle at night.
M.
If I was chasing a mini-Black Hole Mongrol, I wouldn't really fancy my chances at the Bambaland sale; numbers are very limited and a lot of people will be trying to get the Hong Kong exclusives in their cart so I predict madness, chaos and general emo.
Here's a comparison pic of 1/12 and 1/6 versions courtesy of Kadoo on the 3A forum:

And a very, very kind soul not only arranged to pick up a Black Hole version for one of my boys, but even had the box signed by Ash... I'd accepted the probability that I just wasn't going to be able to snag this, but when the offer came I couldn't say no, could I?

Hopefully some news about the 1/12 regular version will appear soon; maybe the newsletter due out on Friday..?
I want one! if anyone can nab two when ordering you have an order from me! :)
The detail on that 1/12 version is excellent! From what I can see it looks every bit as detailed as the big-un.
Yeah, what you get at the smaller scale is a shrunken version of the 1/6. The same details are carried through which is amazing - there's something very special about the scaled down ones for me.

any idea of price? The big version was out of my price range, but I expect the smaller one won't be that much cheaper if it's got all the same details and articulation
Not sure about final price, but the mini-Black Hole version was $55 if bought direct at the Hong Kong show (no shipping). The few sold via Bambaland after the event were a bit more expensive due to worldwide shipping factored into the price; $70 total, I think. Should be the same this time around, I guess.

That's still rather pricey for me, but I'll admit I'm sorely tempted. Particularly as these things tend to actually go up in price after their first selling so, actually not a bad investment in the long run.*
I'll see how I feel on the day when I see the price and full description of dimensions, etc. I've seen a size comparison with the original so I have
some idea but it's still not that easy to tell from pictures. If it's the height I think it is, then it's still about double the price I've seen other figures elsewhere, but taking into account,
a) the craftmanship. I mean these things are both wonderful works of art and machinery.
b) Shipping
c) The fact that at the same height it would still have more bulk, and therefore material than figures with more human proportions
d) Limited production numbers.
... the price is understandable.
We'll see.
*Not that I'd plan to leave it boxed.
The price for the mini Black Hole version sold via Bambaland was $55 plus $10 for shipping worldwide...
Regular should be the same, unless shipping has gone up (not that likely as that sale was pretty recent).
So what UK time tomorrow then?
9 a.m. Hong Kong time; should be 1 a.m. UK time, I think (but don't take my word for it). Should be up for a while, hopefully (a full day, at least?) but always best to get your order in early if you can.

They're 7 hours ahead of us according to this site (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=102). It say eight hours ahead of GMT there but it's seven by my clock. (No doubt a daylight saving time thing or somesuch.) I think it's right as this site (http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_HK.aspx) corroborates it.

Hopefully, yes.
And at the rate of releases since 3A got the licence, before 2049, if we're lucky
Just ordered one now so there would seem to be a few left.
I'd expect these to stay up on Bambaland for most of the day (or longer). For 3A, the 2000AD line is break-even at best when you factor in all the development costs and relatively modest sales; keeping the sales open for longer might help give the sales a bump. Then again, giving people more than four days' notice would also seem like a bloody obvious move, but there y'go.
Still, we knew 1/12 Mongrol was due (or overdue) so I guess I shouldn't grumble. Hopefully Ro-Jaws will follow in 1/12 before long, but I'd prefer Hammerstein next (in any scale).
I have a 24 hour window for ordering (from the time the sale started) so if anyone does decide get off the fence and needs a hand, I'll pass on the 15% discount I get through my 3AA membership... I'll happily place at least a couple of orders; I'd just need specific shipping details (and, at some point, the cash).
These should sell better being cheaper and handier to store. The 1/6ths are just too big and pricey for me to justify. The 1/12ths should do, until we get a 1/6th Dredd of course.
I'll take you up on the discount Ming , if that's ok? Just PM me the total and I'll paypal you this weekend :)

Did it say Pre-Order before?? Don't remember that
Yup, these things are always pre-orders, pretty much. For min-Mongrol, it's stated clearly: "ships in 4th quarter 2012"
3A are often a bit slow with getting figures made and shipped but it's usually worth the wait and I'd rather have stuff late and done right than fast and crappy work.

Well, Mongrol's
still up at Bambaland - the longest sale I can remember. Hopefully this is reflecting acknowledgement of the short notice and is an attempt to boost sales a little.
As for whether to pick it up now or not... It probably won't be that hard to find down the line (eBay, etc.) but the price is likely to be higher. If you can stretch to it now, I'd go for it - you can always sell it on (and not make a loss) later on.

Just a bump for this, as Mongrol is still up and the resolve of anyone on the fence may be sufficiently weak by now. This has been by far the longest sale of anything 3A I can remember; hopefully a good sign - now if they'd only advertise the damn things so people can know there's a sale on...
http://www.bambalandstore.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=abc12mongrol
(http://i.imgur.com/OHUFD.jpg)
Out of interest is this a good thing, or does it mean they don't have sufficient orders in yet to cover the cost etc? Hoping this line does well as its the one that if other items, not yet produced appeared on I might, just might be able to justify buying.
No way of knowing, really, but my reading of the lengthy sales period is that it's to allow as many people as possible to find their way to Mongrol, to help cover the set-up / shrinkage* (from 1/6 to 1/12) costs.
As I (and others) have said before though, more prior warning, or a spot of advertising / pimping on blogs, etc., would probably do more to boost sales than merely offering an extended sales window. 3A seem to think they don't need to advertise (and to be fair, as most of their stuff sells like hot cakes, they're probably right) but for a niche line like this it would be nice to think that some effort was being made to make sure the people it's presumably aimed at (mainly 2000AD fans) know all about it. Advertising / information release is not something 3A goes in for in a big way, unfortunately. I'm happy to pimp 3A here (and I make sure 3A fans are sick to the back teeth of hearing me go on about 2000AD all day long) but I sometimes wish a bit more info was thrown about, or some teasers were made available by Tharg, or something...
* 3A seem to be getting very good at reproducing stuff from 1/6 in 1/12, and the scaling down might be a relatively cheap thing to do; the majority of the costs are probably associated with the initial designs and sculpts and whatnot, and once those are figured out, changing scale is fairly easy, I assume (especially for figures not requiring stitched clothing, zips, etc.).
^This.
Also: buy a wee Mongrol. You'll love it and help ensure there's more made.
M.
I Have a few 3a figures and they are all brilliant. To the point where I'm selling a lot of my collectables off to buy more.
Very excited for Mongrol but really Looking forward to Hammerstein and deadlock if we ever get em.
I would advise anyone whose even slightly tempted to get this to just do it, you won't regret it.
what I really want is a 3a Nemesis figure!
Yup, gotta agree. ThreeA takes up nearly ask much of my time as 2000AD now, really fun figs.
If I'm happy with the 1/12 Mongrol I ordered (and judging by the pictures I don't think that will be a problem) I may look in to buying more of the ABCs if they produce them at that scale. The big ones are lovely but I can't go to that price (and the size would be awkward). Possibly the same for characters such as Johnny Alpha and Dredd, although I think 3A's work particularly fits robots well.
There's absolutely no reason this would be on their radar but one that would defo break me is if they did Nemesis. I just think he'd be perfect for 3A's style. Stuff of fantasy I know but, well he does have strong links to ABC Warriors so you never know.

Ash is a long-time fan of 2000AD (that's the whole reason he sought out the licence for this stuff; he's not in it for the money - any doubts about that, check what his paintings sell for...) and he stated early on that his main love is the stuff he grew up on, meaning the first 500 Progs or so. All the classic characters like Johnny Alpha, Rogue, etc. are very much on his radar and I'd guess Nemesis is a distinct possibility. So little info about the line comes out these days (he's not active on the 3A forums these days and no longer uses Twitter) that it's all going to feel like a horribly long wait in-between figures, but whatever we get will be pretty damn special.
Going back to my earlier comments about switching between 1/6 and 1/12 scales, it might be that the 1/12 line makes more money and helps support the 1/6 figures, which might have prompted this move in the first place. Ash had previously said 'no 1/12 for 2000AD' but obviously changed his mind on that one - a good move, really. We may well see stuff getting released in 1/12 ahead of 1/6 at some point...
You lot are so impatient
Shut-up, where's Dredd?
Got my 1/12th Mongrol ordered.
The 1/6th would have been too much to get past the wife.
The price was a little to steep to justify getting it.
Any news on the wee Mongrols shipping?? No sign of it here yet.
I'd actually forgotten about it and the Mrs said to me today "there's no sign of your birthday present from Gran". I had to ask wot it was! lol

Birthday is coming up...Anyone have one they could think of selling me....(not looking to get ripped off as on e-bay..!).....Looking for the 1/6th scale original...
Thanks,
:D
Sure someone is selling a black hole mongrol or rojaws on here!
Really looking for the original...Not so keen on the Black Hole one's but thanks...
:D

Any update on the 1/12th version of Mongrol from 3A, ordered the standard colour scheme Mongrol.
Is it still looking like the 4th quarter of 2012?
aaargh - I'd managed to put this to the back of my mind - now I'll be wondering each day whether it'll be waiting when I get home!
But no, I've not heard any news. Apparently 3A's estim, ates can be ...aaah.. fluid.
This is the first item I bought from these folks. I'm very much looking forward to receiving it.
From following the threads concerning previous items I was forewarned that there would be delays in despatch so that's okay. The last quarter isn't over yet.
I'll admit, I was hoping it would arrive by Christmas... and indeed it still might. If it doesn't, that's okay. I'll be naturally a bit disappointed, but looking forward to this stuff is still part of the fun.
Last quarter is disappearing fast, any word on these??
Not looking good for 1/12 Mongrol making an appearance this year... Shipping updates are constantly being requested but there's no news to report as yet. As soon as things start moving, I'll post the info.
I keep forgetting I bought one of these so it'll definitely be a surprise when it finally arrives.
Dang... :'(
Not really surprised...the wait continues.
There is one of the 1/12th Mongrols on ebay at this very moment!

I see it's down as a preorder so I guess the buy will be in the same boat as us. ;)
The one I saw said in stock!
Finally, some news: 1/12th scale Mongrol is scheduled to leave HK this month
A long wait, but it'll be a wee beauty, I'm sure (the mini-Black Hole version is fantastic).
Fantastic!
I'm glad to hear it but the wait has been ridiculous not to mention my mrs was not happy of the fact that they took the money before it was shipped (6 months ago...!). I'm sure it'll be awesome but poor show on the shipping and taking money etc.
Cheers for update Ming!
:o :o :o

So wot happened to Jan shipping? This is getting beyond a joke now, not happy.
Yeah, it's pretty crappy. I know that requests for updates from Hong Kong are pretty much continual but there's been no word yet. Bear in mind that things tend to grind to a halt for Chinese New Year, though.
3A have some serious lags between sales and shipping but this is a long and frustrating one (we have seen worse though - one complicated set took a year to ship out...). As soon as there's any word, I'll post it here - in the meantime just forget about it and rest easy in the knowledge that it'll all work out sooner or later. Once you have mini-Mongrol in hand, I'm sure that the wait will have been worth it.
(Easy for me to say - I've had the mini-Black Hole version for aaaaages ;))
And remember its ONE OF SEVEN, SEVEN YEARS?! :o
Just as well they're so good or I'd be wanting my cash back!
Reply from THREEA -
Sorry for the shipment delay. We are not yet to ship WWRp Mongrol Red, due to be spared several months to produce Rex and our factory will have a Chinese New Year holiday on Fed, all production line will be stopped on right now. We will start to produce on the end of Fed. So all items will be delayed. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Surely Mongrol was being produced before Rex?? Maybe not.
Happy New Year >:(
Just saw this on Facebook..........
Shipping update:-
"I spoke to the office, im told that Mini Mongrol will ship march 8th ..."
- Ashley Wood
Well at least there's now a definite (or probably definite) date for shipping to begin.
Ash commented in the 1/12 2000AD thread on the 3A forum earlier (source of the FB quote):
i agree the shipping is lax and has taken too long, I have no control over it an find out about it normally when its shipped, thats kims world etc. Please email CS and tell them, they need to know !
And Ming, I cant show stuff or tease that isnt approved. I agree that its hard to rally support for upcoming without new images but thats the nature of the beast.
remember, voice your concerns to CS, thats where its heard !
I want my mini mongrol too ~
email CS and ask, keep asking!
and:
I spoke to the office, im told that Mini Mongrol will ship march 8th , but as you have waited beyond the call of duty, Im offering anyone that doesnt want to wait a refund, just contact CS with the order details and paypal stuff etc.
3A generally never give refunds, but Ash knows the wait has been a long one, so anyone wanting there money back can just ask. Nice gesture, but as we've waited this long...
I should point out that 'CS' is the 3A customer service department; any queries about shipping or refunds should go there (and if anyone has trouble finding the email address, let me know).
If they miss the estimate they'll give ya a refund mungy!
Yes! Might just be in time for my birthday! (Mind you there's Chinese post...)
3A are making Marvel stuff now. I wonder if they will get made and shipped quicker than the 2000AD stuff.
I expect they will - for starters they'll actually make money for 3A, unlike the labour-of-love 2000AD stuff.
Got my tracking number for Mongrol this morning, weeeee doggie!
Yeah, me too. I'll probably be in France when he lands, unfortunately - but I've waited this long, another week or so will make no difference!
I truly have no idea what I buy because I had one of those emails as well and I thought I didn't buy one of these
I've forwarded tracking numbers to a couple of people I picked up mini-Mongrols for, but if I've forgotten someone, give me a shout! :-[
:)
I checked my mail this morning, but I didn't even notice the message. I then caught the latest posts on this thread and realised my initial check was more of a glance as there is a post from a Candy at 3A, bless her cotton socks. Great!
Mind you it's from 'three-zero' rather than '3A' (same folks, and obviously and my mind should have picked up on 'three'). I get lots of mail though, mainly of the ad variety.
Just got my confirmation too!
Can't wait! Bring on the Mongrol! :)
Got my notification...But they are shipping it to an old address.... :(
I am sure I had updated my details......Frustrating............!
I'm glad I forgot that I'd bought this now, otherwise I'd have been moaning like a good un on the delay
Got my email but royal mail website says "no information for this item yet" and the link to 'quantumsolutions' (whatever that is) doesn't work. Glad to see things are actually moving at last though.
I'm loving the translations too: "Please check on the end of this Friday" :-* and " If you haven't received it after 20 working days unclouded Sat, Sun and holiday".
Declared value states $15USD - either that's creative accounting for customs purposes or we've paid too much!
It'll show up on tracking once it starts actually moving, though the info can be slow to update. First pics from Asian folks are starting to appear already...
M
Anyone get theirs yet???
No but I wasn't expecting it, so I'll be happy if it comes at Christmas ;)
Royal mail tracker says:
QuoteInformation on your item is not yet available
My tracking information says that it left Hong Kong on the 14th and is en route to London.
You know... I was just thinking about Mongrol on the way home. Thinking it would be cool but unlikely if it turned up in time for my birthday.
Then on entering the living room... look at what I saw perched on top of the sofa...
Surely I'm not the first? I really didn't expect it that soon! (Soon after notification of being sent I mean not the wait we had before that...)
I've yet to open it...
Quote from: Mardroid on 18 March, 2013, 09:37:20 PM
I've yet to open it...
How could you not open it?! Get it open man, we need photos, we need to see it!
Hopefully mine will be here soon. :)
I was thinking of waiting for Wednesday (my birthday).
But go on then....
Oops! I don't want to spoil your birthday. Nice to see the proper box. Will Mongrol be released from his cardboard prison on Wednesday then?
Heh. Too late, I've opened it now. I was teasing with that other picture of yet another box.
I'm not sure why that last one came out so blurry compared to the other...
Anyway. I've opened it... and I'm somewhat amused at the references in past posts to 'small Mongrol' with this scaled version. Sure he's small compared to the big'un currently swinging King Kong style from Commando Forces Chimney (oh wait, he lives in a cellar not an attic right?) but he's a pretty hefty toy. I wondered if the scale was in terms of human size or the size of the original robot*. Robot size it is, seems like. Looks great too.
I'll take some more pictures later after my Dad has gone to bed....** including proportional stuff with other other action figures so you get an idea of the scale, etc. Okay you probably have a good idea anyway, but he really is bigger than I imagined even after seeing the photos of the Blackhole version online.
First impressions, lovely detail. Actually rather 'woody' to touch. Quite a strong smell of the paint- almost like it's freshly done... which it could well be. Good quality.
*The original robot that doesn't actually exist, but I'm sure you get what I mean.
**As in, doesn't walk in on his 37 year old son mucking about with an action figure. Yes, I know, am I a hypocrite?
I want.
Ooooooh, hope mine comes tomorrow!
Okay here we go.
I was going to show a picture of my hand holding him to get some sense of scale but... well... my camera phone blurred it. Not my wobbly hands. Oh no.) Never mind. I've found ways around it.
Here he is.
Now for a bit of scale comparison. The old war-horses size up the new boy. (Actually size is a bit deceptive in this picture...)
Being a warm hearted droid, Mongrol suggests they pose together for a picture. The other two aren't so keen though. (Oddly, due to perspective he still looks smaller than he actually is.)
Bit of rough housing....
Mongrol play with the fleshies! Dredd ain't amused. Johnny definitely isn't amused... (The joints are nicely stiff by the way. I wouldn't let it take that weight all that often though...)
Still not a great sense of scale (I should have angled it better) but it gives you some idea.
Sorry, that last picture was a bit blurry but I can't be arsed doing it again (maybe something else later).
Oh and sorry for the repeat post but this thread won't allow editting.
In case your interested, that Johny Alpha is the Reaction Figure. The Dredd with the slightly odd coloured uniform is the Marvel Heroes version. Not that he is a Marvel hero, but well...
Don't worry this is the last.
A side by side comparison.
By the way, I had a slightly scary moment before taking this picture. I tried to straighten out Mongrol's legs to make him a bit taller, and the top band around his legs came apart! The other one had come apart too, although whether or not it happened at the same time.
I don't think they're broken though as they slot together. In fact I think it might be designed to be removed. Anyway, Mongrol should always be a little bit stooped.
Good night.
Mine arrived at work this morning.
He really is zarjaz and worth the long wait.
There is a new box in the cellar
Yip, mine here too this morning!
Quick review - Very detailed considering its only app 7" tall! Love the fact not one is the same due to the unique paint/dirt jobs. Eyes are Black rather than Red in preview pics. As mentioned joints are all real stiff which is great for posing but I'm still scared to move some parts! lol...I would say if your opening his jaw up be careful of the small hangin parts at the back as one of mine was stopping it from closing again.
My only very slight gripe is a bad finish on the 'Mess' jar and its difficult getting it to stay on his shoulder...but I may see if I can get another.
Overall very happy with him 10/10. Roll on Ro-Jaws 1/12!!
Good stuff lads! Mine might be here today then too.
The replication of detail on the 1/12th figures is generally pretty amazing and it'd be great to get all of the ABCs at this scale, but I'm sorry to report Stella that last I heard it's unlikely Ro-Jaws will make it to 1/12th. But never say never! That's been said about a lot of figures in the past...
M.
They have sent mine to an old address..( I changed my address on their site months ago....!!)...Did these arrive via Post Office or courier..... :-\
Mine was by the Royal Mail and it was recorded delivery but my fantastic postman signed for it and put it in the special place :o
This is why I gave him a well deserved tip in his Christmas card this year, as he goes the extra mile for the Cellar ;)
Mine's here too! :D
Royal Mail still have no information about mine - how can they have issued a tracking number a week ago and still not have it in the system?
This happended to me with RoJaws - mine arrived much later than everybody else's - I'm starting to get a complex! :'(
Never had anything from 3AA so I am hoping it arrives...!! :-\

With the bigger ThreeA toys, problems like this can be over one by softening up the plastic using a hair dryer. It might be worth giving it a try with the little dude!

One of the things I love about this figure - apart from the fact I like big robots- not in a Lobster Random kind of way, I'd like to add - is the sense of character. Something shown in the comics from the beginning and really embodied here in solid 3D, so to speak.
I'll admit to wondering why they started with Mongrol, rather than the archetypal ABC Warrior - Hammerstein but looking at him you can maybe see why they did. That being said I'm very much looking forward to seeing Hammerstein. I'd be up for a 12 scale version.
By the way, the part of the Mess Jar that slots into Mongrols shouder is actually a different shape to the actual slot in mine. I.e. the slot is rectangular while the 'bit' (what do you call it?) has angled sides. So no wonder it won't connect. It did stick for a while but then popped out! I had to hunt for it under the sofa at one point. Don't want that molton fella to get out... ;)
ah buggerit, I've snapped off his chin-ring trying to attach the chain.
The Mess canister is tricky but mine seems to be staying in place now, until I change his pose again probably.
I didn't realise it could be opened and The Mess can be removed until it accidentally came open as I tried to attach it.

Yeah, it's one of the things that really blew me away with the 1/6 Mongrol and still does. They managed to capture that essence of slightly unhinged rage that I always liked about Mongrol. And the irreverence of Ro-Jaws shines through too. Brilliant stuff! I still wish they'd get the skates on for other 2000ad figs, but the wait, though frustrating, is always worth it in my experience.
Can you imagine Blackblood done by them? Ho-boy, I can imagine him! I can imagine him

I had a 'holy sh*t!' moment the first time I caught a glimpse of Mongrol side-on, and he looks exactly -
exactly - like a panel from the first McMahon-drawn Mongrol story. Really impressive stuff. Has McMahon seen this beast yet, does anyone know?
Pretty sure McMahon got one. There was a plan for a bunch of us to send him one but I think Ruf told Ming one would be on the way to him, same for Mills.
But yeah,it's pure McMahon which is lush.
M
As everyone else has been doing it, here's Mongrol getting to grips with some 21st century noisemaking technology.
He also has a portable version for making a racket on the go.
And, of course, where would a robot be without his favourite big spanner?

Happy Easter from Mongrol.

Worth every penny, he really is awesome.
I think the 1/12th size are better than the 1/6th...which you'd need something like a cellar to put them all in.

I don't really have enough space for the 1/12th figures let alone the 1/6th, although I'm sure the big one is wonderful. Yeah, the 1/12th figure is definitely big enough. As I said above, he's actually quite a hefty figure even in this smaller incarnation.
I'm hoping they continue to support that size with the following figures.
I agree, the smaller ones should be the way to go forward and they need to push them via outlets like comic shops, model shops and get them in Previews. I reckon they would go down reasonably well.

Noticed no one has the mess jar attached to his shoulder, mine isn't a great fit and keeps falling out...is yours the same folks??
Yes!
Yes.
I was sitting at home recently, in complete silence, and heard a slight, brief noise in the cabinet. The Mess had fallen off, again. It now sits at Mongrol's feet.
Apologies, just read back through the posts :-[
My mess jar isn't finished very well either, still to send a pic to 3A.
Any news on RoJaws 1/12??
It does pop out very easily, but seems to be sticking OK for now:

I'm just so pissed off at myself for snapping off his chin ring though.
That's a strange lookin bottle of Old No 7... Or is it just a wee one??
hehe, yes I bought myself a miniature, just for Mongrol (the contents were umm... tested ... and replaced by cold tea)
Love your picture of Mongrol with a bottle of Jack and a doobie !!....
I've got my Mongrol avatar giving the same greeting as well. !...
( unfortunately without the Jack or doobie ). :D
I just bloody went and snapped his chin ring off as well as I took it out of the packaging....DISASTER!!!
Any idea what glue I should get?? Any advice???
:'(
I 'superglued' my mess container together, as when I tried to put it in the hole it fell apart into 2 halves..... :( It's fine now and I've also 'superglued' it in place on Mongrols' shoulder with 1 drop of 'superglue'..... :)
As for his 'chin ring' I would use the same......but you need to be careful to ensure it doesn't run anywhere else as it will ruin the paint finish.....Might not be particularly 'strong' though....depends on what the 'contact' area is...
Cheers.
Mongrol does like his homebrew.

Any news on this?
Ro-Jaws was released in 1/6 scale more than a year ago; no word on any plans for a 1/12 version (like we had with Mongrol). Things have slowed right down but the line isn't forgotten - hopefully some news to follow soon. Anything that pops up, I'll post here.
Shame!!
I've good news, I managed to glue the ring back to my 1/12 Mongrols chin last week without any issue, looks perfect now and pretty strong! I was so pissed off when I removed it from the box after reading about people's woes and the same thing happened to me.
Whatever happened to ThreeA? Seems 2000ad has been wiped from their forums. Anyone any news?
No, it's still on their forum (if this was what you were looking for): http://www.threeaonline.com/forum/index.php?board=45.0

As indicated above, there's a whole 2000AD subsection in the 'Showcase' part of the 3A forum; threads for Dredd, Hammerstein, Tharg, Strontium Dog, etc. as well as a general 2000AD thread. Things have been pretty quiet lately for various reasons* but the line is still there, waiting for the next release. Hammerstein should be next with (hopefully) Dredd close behind. No idea on timing of any of this, or whether the hinted-at progress since SDCC emerged, but keep the faith, please.
As soon as there's any news, I'll post it here. Or K33F - any info to share? Meanwhile, if people want to help keep the fires burning for 2000AD toys over at the 3A forum, please follow the link given above and post away! Anything to keep some enthusiasm going and show people what an awesome universe 2000AD has created...
:)
* Some of these are extremely valid, trust me.
