Classifieds / Signed Dredd 3D Poster limited to 50
12 November, 2014, 12:46:51 PM

I drew this poster for the Dredd 3D screening in Birmingham later this month. All proceeds are going to the charity Parkinsons UK.

35 posters are reserved, I'll be keeping five - so we have 10 available. Later today I'll sign and number them and post them out. They are 10 pounds each (plus postage and packing) for those interested.

PM if so. It's all for a great cause.

As a life-long fan of all things Dredd I can't tell ye how perturbed I was when the film did not get released here, where I live, in Prague. Comics seem to be booming and 'Soudce Dredd' graphic novels are front and centre in our new, shiny and bustling comic emporiums....but nope, no release for old stony face.

So, on October 25th this year, for one day only, at KINO ATLAS in Prague - we are going to change that. Any fans interested in joining us to see JD in the most beautiful city in Europe...and enjoy a 'pivo' or two, well, we'd love to see ye there! We already have a squad of Jays inbound (you know who you are!)...and the more the merrier!

This idea came as a result of Mick Ramsey's drive to do a Dredd screening and charity raffle in Birmingham earlier this year...what has become known as The DREDD SCREENING DRINKING CLUB (DSDC). (Soft drinks only, honest). (see link http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php/topic,40130.0/topicseen.html)

In that case 600 + pounds was raised for Acorns Children's Hospice, this time we'll do something similar, but from the sale of the film poster I designed (see above). I'll be keeping the poster price to approx 10 pounds plus PP and it will likely be A3 in size...but it might be possible to also do an A2 size.

I'll be begging favours from a printer to keep the price as low as possible so that the maximum can be donated to a local Czech children's charity. I want to be absolutely certain that the money is going to a great cause and not lining the pocket of some creep or other...so I'm looking at the following possibilities and will make a decision shortly and announce it on this thread. http://www.expats.cz/prague/article/community/czarities-in-the-czech-republic/

I'll add more details here soon on tickets, and whatever info that may have been gathered on flights, possible accommodation, whatnot.... Thanks for reading and I hope you can join us! (and that those who are joining us will pitch in on this thread, thanks folks!)

Events / The Day a Comet Came to Tea.
24 September, 2013, 04:30:28 PM

On Thursday I'm travelling to London to launch my new iPad app for kids. The Day a Comet Came to Tea is aimed at children up to 5 or 6 yrs and tells the story of a comet, a ravenously hungry one, that turns up for tea one afternoon. Written by Guy Lachlan and illustrated by yours truly.

We're delighted to be launching at The Royal Institute because at heart we think it's never too early to begin to ponder the wonders of the Universe (and the science that follows!).

If there's time (and interest) I may do some signed sketches during the proceedings.

The launch of The Day A Comet Came To Tea – www.cometbook.co.uk

I'm pleased to say I have permission to show some details from my paintings for the new 'Judge Dredd: The Dark' game book written by Nick Robinson, this is the follow up to Nick's previous game book 'Countdown Sector 106' from Tin Man Games that came out last year.

The image below shows details from the first 4 paintings I made, in each case you can only see the bottom or top corner of the painting (roughly 1/6th of the full painting).

I have a long way to go and may be able to post more examples later, but I really can't say anything at all about the game book itself at the moment.

But I can tell you I'm being very careful with the details of Dredd's world and hope to create something that  fans of Dredd can really take a delight in. I'm scowering the progs to make sure my vehicles, buildings and everything MC1 - is true and consistent to Dredd.

I'll be working on 'The Dark' all summer as I'm doing everything from cover to perp sheets and when I can I'll post more here.

This thread invites forum members to post images or tech research / news items / that closely echo the future proposed in 2000AD and (where possible) to post examples from progs passim.

As a first example...

Last week I started a new kind of comic, an experiment that anyone can read or participate in for free. It is a multi-dimensional story, tweeted live on Twitter. In one day 39 artists responded creating 39 versions of 'Hero'. How Hero looked was up to them, each artist controls the view of their universe.

Although all artists interpret the same Tweets, the outcome of events is diverse. I would like to invite other artists from around the world to take part in this unique comic art experiment. We have 39 artists involved, my target is 140 artists - we have plenty room for interpretation yet.

For details read this page on my blog.... http://wineink.blogspot.com/2011/05/atwomic-twitter-comic-or-multiverse.html#links
