General / Fire unt Brime-stone

Ho there
Just wondering if anyone had read the Dredd Story "Fire and Brimstone" that's on the web? I can't point you to the site or anything (laziness you see) but it's easy enough to find. No idea who wrote it but it was helluva good.

Anyway

General / To be honest
14 May, 2002, 09:37:42 PM
To be honest, Scojo's screenplay sucked a bit. It was too run-of-the-mill, too much Dredd muttering to himself (which he does in the comic, but it doesn't work well in a screenplay) and the grammar kind of put me off (or lack of it).
Sorry man, try again. You can only learn from your mistakes, young padawan.

Ho, tis the doc here.
Just wondering what kind of opinions people had on this new series 13. In fact, what do people think of that and this Bec and Kawl thing? Now i know it's only been one episode so far (bec and Kawl) but frankly I couldn't bear to read it. I mean, putting "like" between every first and second word of a sentence is bad enough, but the whole thing just seems to be trying to do a cliche in a kind of, like, in the 2000ad stylee. TO be honest I think it fails miserably and I somehow seeing it turn slowly into the reincarnation of RAM Raiders...
As for 13, I was quite impressed. Good art, interesting plot, although the main characters dialogue was somewhat steretypical.
And I hang my head in shame for thinking Sin City was going to be the Frank Miller thing.
The new Dredd story's going pretty well I think, on that note. However I am sorely disappointed with Kev Walkers art. It still has it's own style and flair but for fucks sake, is it anything compared to the art on ABC Warriors (the Hellbringer story comes to mind). Imagine that kind of work on Dredd... it would be enough to make a grown man cry some happy tears.

Post your views, peoples.

Help! / Atavar the Hedgehog
22 April, 2002, 06:15:01 PM
Time for the Doc to make an ass of himself again with another useless question.
Is Richard Elson the same guy who used to do the Sonic the Hedgehog comic? All mine are in the attic so i can't be arsed looking them up, but I'm pretty sure I recognize the name, and even the style, despite the fact that Atavar is clearly human whereas Sonic is... a 70's punk hedgehog with snazzy sneakers.
That sounded really awful.
Anyone got the answer?
I'm dyin' here.

p.s. Didnt Sonic the Comic kick serious ass? I loved every pae of that stuff.

Help! / Incompetent Judges?
30 October, 2001, 10:20:14 PM
Just how many Judges are left in MegaCity 1? After Helter Skelter, the Robot War, and other such epics in which judges are targeted, there must be about five left. Am I right? Dredd, Hershey, Anderson, the ghost of Judge Rex, and maybe Walter The Wobot (as they were getting desperate). Is it me or do Judges just die too easily? Considering the fact they all spend 15 years at the academy of Law and get kicked out if they make the TINIEST mistake, they must be ultra hardcore, able to shoot the hairs off a perps toes from a mile away,, and have the reactions of a genetiaclly enhanced cat-beast. ARGH! It's so annoying. Please discuss, at length. Preferably without mentioning Scojo's writing ability.
