I've got most of these... Got them on eBay for five dollars about three years ago. The only ones I don't have are the ABC Robot and Dredd on his Lawmaster (which is annoying, because they're the only ones I want).

To be honest, they're not great; Dredd is about the best of them (and not the bright green "Battle Armor Dredd" or "Block War Dredd". Mean Machine is okay too.

They're not "action figures": they're "inaction figures" - Hershey, for example, has only one point of articulation: her right shoulder.
They're not really worth getting unless you're a serious collector!

Have to agree with Tweak72: the Alien adaptation is truly excellent!

When it was released over here in Ireland it was packaged with two similar-sized books - The Making of Close Encounters and Star Trek: Spaceflight Chronology - all wrapped up in plastic and with an "Adults Only" sticker on it! I was sixteen at the time (and looked it), and had to practically beg the guy in the shop to let me buy it!

The absolute worst comic strip I ever read was called "Garbage" and it appeared in the 1980 Dan Dare annual.

Every couple of years I have to drag the thing out and read it again, because I start to believe that "it couldn't possibly be that bad." Well, it is! I have a feeling that perhaps it was meant as a spoof, but if that's the case then it's even worse!

Tattoos always remind me of a Harry Hill joke:

"My gran has a complete map of the British Isles tattooed on her body... She's a strange woman, my gran, but you always know where you are with her."

You're right, Dudley: it's Office Space! But I have to say I love that movie. Possibly because it so perfectly captured some of the crap I went through back when I had an office job.

Off topic: my favourite "mind-numbingly stupid internal office politics" event happened to my wife: they were all told that they wouldn't be getting any more Post-It notes because they use too many of them.

Mind you, this didn't really come as a surprise, because a few weeks previously some management genius noticed that there was always Diet Lilt in the vending machine, even when it was otherwise empty, and concluded the Diet Lilt was therefore the most popular drink, so he doubled the order. Nice of him, wasn't it?

It's time once again to play Guess the Movie! All from the same movie...

"I cannot believe what a bunch of losers we are. We're looking up 'money laundering' in the dictionary."

"The ratio of people to cake is too big."

"If we get caught, we're not going to white-collar resort prison. No, no, no. We're going to federal POUND ME IN THE ASS prison."

(P.S. - The previous movie was the seriously-underrated Brain Donors, so Carnivore was pretty close when he suggested Groucho Marx; Brain Donors is a sort of remake of A Night at the Opera)

Ooh, I love this game! Ten points to anyone who can name the movie THESE quotes appear in:

"Charity work. I gather these for those less fortunate than myself who can't afford pornography."

"It's said that behind every great man there is a great woman, and I'm glad the woman behind me is Lillian; because, quite frankly, I enjoy the shade."

"How did the market close? Uh-huh. Well, roll over my amalgamated, split my utilities, and double my capital venture overlays. Now call me in an hour, and tell me what the hell I'm talking about!"

> As to the "no caffeine" thing, I have to tell you that you're stark staring mad. What kind of a life is that for anyone?

Heh! Giving up caffeine was absolutely bloody murder! Headaches and nausea for about three weeks. It's been fifteen years now and I still occasionally get mad cravings for a cup of tea or a can of coke.

I chose to give it up because I was suffering from pretty severe insomnia; I'd be lying awake at four in the morning, quietly panicking about not being able to get to sleep, so I'd get up and have a nice cup of tea to calm myself down...

I REALLY don't get the Irish attitude to alcohol... Here in Ireland, if you don't drink you're considered to be a freak!

Alcohol is a drug. A hangover - considered by many to be an acceptable price to pay for a night's drinking - is actually withdrawal symptoms from an alcohol overdose.

So why is it socially acceptable to drink alcohol, but not to smoke pot? Alcohol does more damage to the body than cannabis, and it's much more likely to bring about antisocial behaviour!

Now, I don't drink alcohol (or smoke pot; I don't even consume caffeine), but I don't condemn those who do, so why do they condemn those of us who don't?

Because of my non-drinking, I've been accused of being a homo, a girl, a pansy, a wimp, a commie, an unpatriotic bastard, a weirdo, a snob, a wanker, a smug little c*nt, and - best of all - a fool.

And this was all from ONE guy, on one night! He was annoyed with me because it was my birthday and he wanted to buy me a drink. He has no memory of the incident, so he still doesn't understand why I won't go to the pub with him anymore!

Isn't Terry Pratchett also a fan?

Hey, that's got me thinking... Tharg should give free subscriptions and t-shirts to famous people! Get 'em hooked and maybe they'll mention the comic or wear their t-shirts next time they're on telly!

Hard to choose just one, but - if I really have to - I'll pick The Shawshank Redemption.

Dante's Peak, that was.

Never saw it myself, but I heard so many bad things about it that last time it was on telly I taped it and then played it back when I wasn't there so that I could miss it twice.

The Producers.

I've tried to enjoy it, believe me, but I can't. I've seen it five or six times now, and I just don't find it funny.

Ever since I listed it on my website as one of the world's most over-rated movies, I've received dozens of e-mails from fans "correcting" my opinion! I even received a death-threat once, though I'm pretty sure that the guy didn't really mean it (based on the rather strong evidence that I'm not dead yet).

Am I alone in this?

Me, I hate shaving. But I hate having a beard, too.

And I hate the fact that I'm rapidly going bald on the top of my head, while my ear-hair is growing like crazy! Great big thick black hairs... Just like the ones that have started appearing on my shoulders!

Anyone know if it's possible to get electrolysis on your ears?
