Spuds been kind of forlorn these last few months. So when a friend of ours cat had a litter, we where naturally interested in getting a new friend for him. The reault is Tito, a tiny little creature who'se so far charmed us and Spud alike with her never ending source of energy and somewhat starnge looks. She's lovely.

Just took our dog for her checkup - it's been around 6 months since her TPLO surgery, and though her bad leg hasn't fully recovered (it still needs to build up some muscle, which had atrophied really badly while her previous owner neglected to get her treated  >:() she's doing well.

Can't rule out the chance that the other leg will go at some point which would be devastating, but by all accounts if she gets through the first year after surgery OK there's a much better chance it won't, so fingers crossed.

That's a fine dog you have there radiator. Z

Thanks. Aside from the whole leg thing, she's pretty much perfect.

Big but not too big (70ish pounds), doesn't drool or slobber, boundlessly affectionate (just wants to cuddle up to us all day long), generally quiet and doesn't bark at noises, loves exercise and walks but not to an annoying/exhausting degree as with some dogs, generally well-behaved (no destructive habits) and can be left on her own if need be. She has an endearing puppylike quality and is very small for her breed (with oversized paws), to the point where most people just assume she is still a puppy even though she's fully grown.

The only bad habit she has picked up is barking and lunging at other dogs in the street, which can be a bit embarrassing. Trying to train it out of her, but it's a slow process. Where we live dogs have to kept on the lead almost everywhere except for designated enclosed play areas - we were taking her to these to help 'socialise' her with other dogs, but it turns out the whole thing was probably just stressing her out and making her behaviour a lot worse.... woops   :-\

Excellent dog there, Radiator.

We have a new rescue dog these past few months, a young lurcher-ish fellow, playful, affectionate and very good natured.  I am however having trouble bonding with him - I think I'm just not over our last boy yet, who we lost back in May after 13 years.  He's a great dog, but... he's not my dog.  If that makes any sense.

I've always thought the best thing to do when you lose a dog is to get another, but I think I could have used more time this time.  Still, this is bound to pass.

I'm sure it'll just take some time.

I worry a lot about this too though - my girlfriend and I regularly talk about what we'll do when we lose our pup, I just don't think another dog will ever be quite the same. But on the other hand, now I finally have a dog I don't think I'll ever want to not have one now.

That feeling when your bastard 18 year old half feral cat brings home a rat the size of a modestly large rabbit.

The stain will never come out now, cheers Bob you utter bastard!

The Legendary Shark

My dog, Chip, finds the creepiest things...  :-\

That feeling when your bastard 18 year old half feral cat ...

Aren't all cats bastards?

Unless you're one of those crazy cat people that has wee wedding ceremonies for their pets...
You may quote me on that.

It took me a moment to realise that meant 'small' wedding ceremonies.  Having experienced elderly cats before that wasn't the first reading.   ::)

Yep with you there. I was really questioning the type of neighbourhood crazy cat person you had growing up and how much grimmer it was than ours!

Well, Bob IS a bastard, but then he's also a bastard if you get what I mean.

This is Hobson. Hobson is not a bastard. Hobson is a queynte.

Hawkmumbler

Hippy, that moggy is a majestic beast and you must be very proud!

Sharks little doggo Chip is an absolute cutie as well! He looks so happy!

The Legendary Shark

Hobson is beautiful.

(Thanks, Hawkie - Chip was born happy, he's one of those serene souls who seems to love everyone!)
