Title: Slender
Post by: bluemeanie on 31 July, 2012, 11:55:29 PM
Ok.... I'm gonna post a video of this. You'll watch it. You might think "So what?"

But download it and give it a go. It's free. Its FUCKING SCARY AS HELL.
It shouldnt be, but it really is. I've played it twice, pretty sure thats enough

I wish to say only this:

I'm sending you my laundry bill, Mr. Meanie.

Brrrrr!

(Cheers for this, though! The whole thing's a fine testament to the twin powers of sound and suggestion. Though I will say that at first, it perversely reminded me of a much slower version of 3D Deathchase on the Zx Spectrum, what with all the trees!)

Ahhh, I fondly remember getting up early so I could get an hour of Deathchase played before school.
It had 3D graphics. It was THE FUTURE!!

Anyway, yeah. Glad it wasnt just me. There's some really funny vids on youtube of people's reactions as they play it the first time. Sure they put it on a bit but still made me feel slightly less of a big girl

Somehow, I knew you'd be a Deathchase man.  ;)

My shameful first 'Slender' experience - watched the start of one of the Youtube videos (up to where they approach the tree and get the note), then thought "Nah, this'll spoil the suspense if I watch any more," so went and started playing the game. Wandered through the woods for what seemed liked ages until I eventually found the toilet-cubicle building, in which I found a chamber with a note on the wall. On picking it up, the sound fx started to kick in. Realising I would have to navigate many blind corners to get out, whilst this creature was homing in on me, I was gripped by a sudden fear of the unknown....  so I hit the Esc key and killed the game before even setting eyes on the guy! (I then went back and watched the video so at least I'd know what the creature looked like.) It is probably impossible to out-girly me on this one.

Well I saw the video and thought "Its Jack Skellington.... thats not scary... why are they getting so freaked out"

then I had a go   :'(

And yeah... that cubicle block. Dont care if I play it again and get 7 of the 8, I aint going back in there

Intrigued by all this Slender Man nonsense I innocently googled it.
Holy sh!t, there's more bout this online than there is about porn!
I feel like i've just watched 'The Ring' video and now have less than a week to live.
Its all bullsh!t, right guys?....guys?

Did anyone find a page? I got lost in the woods straight away!

Creepy though...

Noticed stuff about this popping up in various places recently, but hadn't realised it was free. Have now downloaded, switched off light, had a go, found no pages and did indeed get a bit of a fright when Mr. Scary No-face appeared right next to me, (but did not scream like a girl like those sissy youtube types).

I'm familiar with the whole Slenderman thing but had no idea there was a game about it. May well have to give this a try.

Just occurred to me that it's actually pretty much a remake of this (http://youtu.be/nKvd0zPfBE4).

Well actually my first attempt at playing Slender has been exactly the same. I think this is one I'm going to have to play with the sound down...and with someone else in the room.

Just saw a new game App on iOS: "Slender Man" (€0.79).
Anyone know if this the same as the free "Slender" game?

It's an unofficial but blatant rip-off of the original Slender game. Legal action may be pending, apparently.

So, if you want to financially reward people who have stolen their work from something already freely available to play...

Ah man!
My boys made me play this at Christmas - one go in the middle of the afternoon was enough - it's still sitting unplayed since then on my computer...
