Curious as to peoples chosen avatars and why they picked 'em.
I'll start I suppose
Mines a crap render of Iron Man. Chosen because when I was thinking about what I wanted as my avatar I happened to be listening to the song Iron Man (yes I know the song isn't about that Iron Man but anyway) so there he is. Otherwise it was gonna be a Xenomorph or The Supreme Leader (not Diana Ross)
anyone else?
It's a self-portrait...

Nothing....really. Z
It's about the right size, thanks for asking.
Chaos warrior drawn by one of the boarders in a warp induced frenzy.
Simply my favourite Tooth character!
Jeffrey Jacobi, from the Dredd story 'Hitman'. You didn't see much of Jacobi's face in the first couple of episodes, so his personality was largely conveyed through his splendidly sinister lips.
My avatar is a character called 'Tidyup' from the late eighties ecologically aware (and funny as fuck) Stoppit and Tidyup (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoppit_and_Tidyup). Narrated by Terry Wogan.
Cheers

As I recall a great show.
Mine was the logo for Simia Comics. Little known publisher of some of the truly great indie comics* of the early 21st Century. Ape in a Spacesuit Demo still available in case you've been searching all these years.
Its a chimp cos I'm a bit dumb headed with a roman helmet from Asterix, cos... Asterix.
*When I say comics I mean comic and when I say greatest I mean a bit** rubbish
**When I say bit I mean a lot
Modesty forbids me from commenting on my glorious avatar. Those in the know know why.....
Mr Bones because he's gruesome. In hindsight I should have changed my name to his but too late now.
It's me. Trying on a Planet Replicas Judge helmet at ThoughtBubble in Leeds.
Some bloke wearing a mask. Because us Noxians are too conscionable to be caught on camera.
This icon is the logo for the mighty FQP publishing- home of FutureQuake, Something Wicked, Zarjaz & Dogbreath. The finest small press comics you will ever get.
It from one of my favourite Future Shock; Red Moon
Me and my friend Stu (on the right) and a certain astro droid at Star Wars: Celebration Europe in 2007.

I'll take a guess it's a portrait of you by King Carlos? Presumably got published in a Dredd strip...
Mine is from that time I met Sir Terry Pratchett, around the corner from where I live (well, two corners, but who's counting?) In the same evening I also met Shappi Korsandi and John Lloyd (the one behind Blackadder, QI and a few books with Douglas Adams).

Shappi Khorsandi - and I thought I was going to misspell her first name...
Mine is a detail of an effort of mine, from a bygone age, when I would manage to find time to draw.
It was for this forum's art comp on the theme: classic 2000AD moments for which I drew a scene from The Return of Rico.
Because I love Kingdom; I forget I have an avatar; and I'm Lazy.
In that order of events.
Doctor - screw modesty for those of us not in the know!
It's a bear.
My character from the Judge Minty film drawn by Cliff Robinson for my commission of Judge Minty and the mutant gang.
When I joined I picked one of the sample avatars but it turned out to be the one used by one of the mods, Wake - as an internet novice I had no clue what I was doing but Wake was super-helpful in setting up another Dan Dare avatar.
There was a prolific boarder at the time who had an animated avatar of kicking boots - I asked how such a miracle was possible and was directed to various free gif-maker sites. Bushy eyebrow dude is my default doodle in boring meetings so that was my first scribble.
I've considered changing it many times but I feel that now people know me by it, it would be at best confusing, at worst downright rude to change it.
I'm very lazy.
It's the badge/crest of the mighty Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Mikey SMUSH!
This is a pic I took of my Mongrol toy the day I got it. It also represents my fall down the collecting tat rabbit hole after years of being on the wagon.

I saw your badge at the 40th (I was the one who said I was disappointed that the badge wasn't animated!)

I am suspicious of its qualifications.

I couldn't quite make out the detail in your avatar so I had to look it up.
A tranquilised bear falling out of a tree on to a trampoline...
knowyourmeme (http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/falling-bear)
QuoteAccording to the university newspaper CU Independent, the bear was first spotted and reported to University of Colorado campus police shortly before 8 a.m (local time) on April 26th, 2012. After about two hours of occupying the tree, the bear was subsequently tranquilized and retrieved by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department. The photograph of the bear was captured by University of Colorado student Andy Duann who works for the school's newspaper CU Independent.

I was thinking it was some kind of photoshop gag, but it really is what it appears to be?
😆
I'm glad it was take down humanely.

That was proper mental as I recall, especially as it was narrated by a confused sounding Wogan at the time...
It was all the stuff that the teachers and parents told you to do including, the two bees (behave and be good - sounds familiar) and the large red thing - the big bad I SAID NO!

I can't remember if it's on the link I included, but apparently the bear was taken off to live in the mountains.
It's a drawing I did of the kind of sauropod I am.
It's a self-coloured portrait of everyone's favourite dimensionally-displaced ex-SAS sergeant, Nick Stone - the Meltdown Man himself. Mostly chosen because it's my favourite 2000AD story.
Mine says I can't make up my mind as I change it every so often. I really should come up with something clever.
"Kathy Griffin has asked celebrity photographer Tyler Shields to remove the photo from the internet"
Good luck with that one :D

An even better guess would be... Prog 1687. ;)
Its evil Homer for some reason or another.
Mine is me in the Engel outfit for my little walk-in role in the Strontium Dog fan-film. (
Just to clarify,
I'm the hat wearing dude in the Alpha-vision scene, until he steps out of the cabin and becomes more handsome.
) It was a lot of fun, and I got to strap on the gun, and everything. I took a quick snap in the long dressing room mirror before going on-set so the camera spoils it somewhat. (In the room next door - just to the right of that mirror, the chap playing McNulty was having his lumps applied.)
Mine's a Dalek. From a time when there was no Nu Who. There's a Chrismas variation. The Dalek has a Santa hat.
I change it sometimes.
Currently I'm in a hairy mood, and I snapped this madly-detailed print/painting (?) at the Frank Qujtely exhibition because I like it.
I don't even look like mine any more.
He is my custom 1/12 scale Ratty Angel. :D
He usually sits on my 3A/custom 1/12, Fink Angel's shoulder
My Avatar includes my name! Was years before I got the joke, but I bloody loved Helltrekkers, me.
Can't make it out, what does it say?
I chose this avatar because I feel it instantly makes certain things clear to other forum members
1) That my wife is not the issue
2) That your revolution is over and the bums lost
3) That everytime a rug is micturated upon in this fair city I will not be compensating the owner
4) That I'm no fucking dipshit with a nine toed woman.
Mine is to show what a wanker I am.

How does it make those things clear (instantly or otherwise)?
Mine's my Judge badge on my Dredd costume.. ;)
@ Sheridan I guess it doesn't unless you get the reference ..
https://youtu.be/TCgeaNfcw-w
It's from one of my favourite movies ever
That's me taking a break from encouraging everyone on Twitter to report friends and family to @Judge_Pal to win great Justice Department Approved prizes!
Mine was kindly created for me by a board member as there were no decent Brit-Cit Judge head shots I could use :D
