General / Digital colouring
13 June, 2006, 02:39:06 AM
i am now seven progs back into my weekly dose of thrill power, and i have to say, something feels different. the artwork seems a lot more digital. especially the colouring. it seems bland and lifeless. although Plot wise Nikolai Dante wasnt anything special, it was great seeing some actual paint and vibrant colour being used!
i was just wonder, is this the norm now for 2000AD now? or are there many fine art/painting strips being included anymore?

General / help with identifying some art!
14 May, 2006, 01:22:38 AM
hi!
i purchased some work by Darren Chandler on ebay recently. have them online at

http://akiracels.rubberslug.com/gallery/master_query.asp?SeriesID=24033

basically four A4 ink and pen pieces of Judge Fear,Fire,Mortis and the Joker (as seen in the dredd/batman die laughing crossover) and a A3 piece of Judge Death.

i did a search for Darren Chandler on this site, and he seems to have only really worked on fanzines. yet i could have sworn i saw that piece of Death somewhere before.
i dunno. anyone got any info id realy appreciate it!

General / no more 2000ad in my local shops!
07 May, 2006, 06:23:49 AM
hey
as i mentioned earlier, i've started collecting 2000ad again after a 4 year dry spell.
originally i was able to stroll down into my town (not small, about 25,000 people, and a lot of newsagents!) and pick up a copy of 2000ad, the megazine, the best of, classic 2000ad, whatever i wanted. they had.
now, 4 years later,  i strolled down to check out the latest thrills, and there was nothing. not a single newsagent had a copy of anything. wtf?! was i alone keeping all those shops stocked? lol i doubt it very much. odd stuff indeed. in the end i had to pick up a copy while in Dublin. which, i can thankfully say, had plenty of shops stocking it. so whats gone wrong with my town? a sad day indeed.

General / new to the board...
28 April, 2006, 07:28:44 AM
hi!
i was an avid 2000ad collector when i was younger, stopping when i was about 16.(for some unknown stupid reason. girls perhaps?!) apart from several hundred older issues, my main weekly consecutive progs run from 950 to 1180. i am going to resume collecting, but to be totally satisfied, i *must* plug this 5 or 6 year gap between the most recent and when i stopped. the thought of having to search out all these progs pains me!
anyone else ever face such a problem?
i'm going to try and scour ebay, hopefully that'll turn up many results :D
