BORAG THUNGG, EARTHLETS!

Welcome to 2000adonline.com, the official website of the Galaxy's Greatest Comic. I am The Mighty Tharg, Betelgeusian editor, and I recommend that you regularly stop by here for all the info you could possible ever need pertaining to 2000 AD and the Judge Dredd Megazine.

Following a server interface/wormhole event, alas the earlier incarnation of this website is in several pieces beneath Mek-Quake's tracks. But we're in the process of rebuilding it, constructing over time a new and even more zarjaz site. So keep visiting, Terrans - W3B-bot.2 and PYE-01 are working double shifts to get it up and running, but things will settle down soon. Florix grabundae for your patience, and apologies for any inconvenience.

Thrill-power will prevail!

Could we not all -- until given cause to suspect otherwise -- consign Matt's outburst to the status of what some of us might recognize as a "Planet Gary" moment and pretend it never happened?

Or alternatively you could all use this messageboard in a civilised and considerate manner, which I seem to remember was my fairly simple and - so I thought - reasonable request in the first place.

Prog / Re: Prog 1587: Zarjaz!

OK, that's enough. You don't like a story, fine, but comments such as Philt's are utterly disrespectful to the professional creators involved. If you can't be constructive, or at least polite, in your criticisms, then go off to some other corner of the internet and be needlessly rude and confrontational. But it will no longer be tolerated on this site.

I've had more than one creator contacting me recently about comments made on this messageboard, and frankly this forum has been on thin ice for a while. It isn't doing the site, 2000 AD or Rebellion any favours, and unless I start seeing some moderation in language used then the messageboard will be pulled altogether.

A little decorum, please, and a little more thought before posting ill-considered and disrespectful remarks.

The website will be undergoing a few tweaks over the next forty-eight hours - Zragian nullifiers added, server displacement engines oiled - so if you experience any temporal shifts when viewing it, fear not, it won't be permanent.

Thank yew for your patience, Terrans.

Greetings, Earthlets!

Even The Mighty One has realised the benefits of MySpace. Why not pop in and say hello?

Prog / 1325 Slaine - A Case for the Defence
30 January, 2003, 11:20:20 PM

Don't read this if you don't yet know what happens at the end of Prog 1325's episode of Slaine...

I don't make a habit of posting on this message board as I try to stay off the Internet period, but I feel I have to defend Pat over some of the criticisms levelled at him with regard to the manner of Niamh's death.

In the first draft of his script, Pat had the scene between Niamh and Moloch close on them fighting, then cutting to Slaine finding his dying wife. It was my suggestion that we give Niamh - a long-term supporting character - a death scene to remember, which would make Slaine's desire for vengeance all the more powerful. She's been an important character in the Slaine stories, and to gloss over her death seemed like a missed opportunity. It  was intentionally shocking, but it needed to be if it was going to shake Slaine's world to the core...

So, I apologise if you were offended by the manner of her death, as I am responsible to a large extent. It was a horrific page - and Clint did a fantastic job - but that's the nature of evil...

As for the criticism of it being on the inside back page, I admit that passed me by. Clint requested that the story be run in double page spreads - hence the way it's moved around the comic to accomodate, for example, a necessary page-turn (i.e. the end of part 3 of Caballistics) or a lovely centre-spread by John Burns in part 5 of Nikolai Dante.  It never occurred to me that putting the end of Slaine on the inside back cover would be a problem, as I tend to read fiction from the front and work my way forward.

But then I always was a traditionalist.

Matt.
