Read a chunk of it in Dark Horse Presents before I jumped ship on that title and its pretty good stuff. Has many of Brendan McCarthy's 'typical'* ticks and tropes in it BUT when is that ever a bad thing?

*There is of course nothing typical about his work when compared to other creators!

Ha, this is it. Even if the story isn't my cuppa, his art is so damn good I'll just drool over that!  ;)

This looks interesting....! Anything by McCarthy is a must buy from me. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dream-Gang-Brendan-McCarthy/dp/1506700004/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1459614656&sr=1-1&keywords=dream+gang

It's good stuff, and would honestly be a good fit in the prog. McCarthy's art is eye ball meltingly good!

This is going to be very none specific post BUT by heck there seems to be some good stuff announced at Image Expo. Not had time to look at all the individual stories yet (if I'm honest I'm being I've just spent about 5 minutes hoping there was a nice simple summary page somewhere ... cos like I'm dead lazy me!) but there seems to be a lot of potential there. Including Brubaker and Phillips' next offering which is a gimme.

Mind since some of the stuff anounced last year is still to hit the shelves I should maybe be starting a 2017 thread already!

Yep this one is sounding like a winner already.

I'm off to bed. be warned I strongly suspect I'll be back in the morning...

Brubaker/Phillips work is always no-bariner for me. But from Image Expo I see Black Cloud as the most interesting annoucement:

margaritas ante porcos

Apestrife

Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso's Moonshine. A story about mobsters vs moonshining werewolf hillbillys.

I'm a fan of basically everything they'v done together, and I can't wait to see what they'll make of such premise.

Apestrife

Jodorowsky and Ladrönn's Sons of El Topo.

I really liked the film and I think it'll make one hell of a comic. Though I'm quite sure an english translation (from french I think) isn't due anytime soon. Probably a year away.
