I'm not saying it would put off existing readers, only people who haven't picked up the prog before. Would someone start with this one? Or prog 722, for that matter?

I always like Cliff Robinson's work, but I don't like Tharg covers, because what is a potential new reader going to make of that? Who would be enticed to pick that up and give it a chance?

A solid Dredd episode, and this artist is really good, I'd happily see more from him.

Glad to see Aquila back. Patrick Goddard is one of my all time favourites. I've forgotten who the witch is though, might have to re-read book one.

I've enjoyed FTB, but it doesn't feel like 11 episodes! Not an awful lot really happened, but it was fun anyway.

I agree with Fink about Proteus Vex. I also liked Blessed's reaction on seeing the spaceship.

Leaving IP for tomorrow.

There's also a Star Scan by Nick Dyer.

"If it chose" is doing a lot of work in that sentence!

Yes 2000AD is immeasurably better for not imposing a house style.

I'm tempted to change my profile name to 403 Forbidden.

QuoteI am normally permanently logged in, but I came here and found I was logged out, and when I tried to log in it kept saying I couldn't, and suggesting I check my cookie settings. But I haven't changed them, and other websites where I am still logged in are working fine.

Well, this is happening again...

I don't have any problem with this interpretation of Dredd's uniform. If anything, it seems more practical than most, in that the visor is actually big enough for Dredd to see through. In most versions, you have to assume that Dredd is either half-blind all the time, or else the red bit is actually see-through in one direction.

I wish publishers would move away from this idea that children want all their art to be cartoony and dull! We had Russ Nicholson doing our books when we were growing up and it never did us any harm (*suddenly spasms and drools*).

QuoteI suspect the Hungarian version of AoA could be written in Hungarian

Damn, I didn't think this through did I?!

I hadn't realised there were different artists on different countries' editions, so if I buy Assassins I'll have to be careful I get the right one! Balla's art is good.

That's a great cover!

Hale probably reminds him of his brother at the same age.

Aah, ignore me, I've just noticed his signature on it!

That only proves that someone thought it was Dillon's work and lent it to the exhibition. It doesn't look anything like Dillon's style at all, and I suspect it was there by mistake.

I think I might give that book another go. I don't really remember it at all, but I love McKenna's art.

The current publishers of FF have announced a new sequel to Deathtrap Dungeon, The Dungeon on Blood Island, by Ian Livingstone and KrisztiĆ”n Balla, the artist on Assassins of Allansia!
