There's an archive of ZX Spectrum magazines somewhere, and one of the earliest spoof articles I spotted in one of them - from like 1982 or something - was for fake movie/game tie-ins.

So anyway, that's how old and lame this joke is, so if nothing else we must respect an author for wringing an entire book out of it in the year 2017.
