Hey Guys,

Anyone know what medium Slaine The Horned God is painted in? Can't seem to find out anywhere....

sassafras

Thought it could be watercolour and ink, but I'm not sure.

Pretty sure it's mostly acrylics.

Yes, I had read in some past interviewes that it was acrylics mostly, pencil underlay with some pen and ink, then airbrush over that and brush painting to finish.

the graphic novel (the horned God) is a education in traditional fantasy painting, still blows my mind every time i look at the work.

If you really want to see the painting at its best pick up the 3 first volumes on ebay publish by fleetway  in 1990.

the 3 volumes has never been published as big or as well since.

Cheers! That's amazing, the paint layering is incredible.

I love this style of fantasy painting as well, wish we would see more of it. Although I do really like Simon Davis' work on the Brutania Chronicles.
