Heh. I've heard tell that not only was Fry's episode too expensive (quite possibly the 'official' line taken) but that RTD didn't actually like it.

Was Fry commissioned to write his episode or did he just submit a proposal?

Fry's episode isn't going to be in series 3, he has said he's just too busy now.   So who knows?

As for the idea that in some way a lower budget might be a good excuse for a poorer story for a doctor who episode... well, that's pitiful.  Since when did good writing add to a budget?

Anyway, let's see if tomorrows episode is more badly thought out balls.
