General / Squaxx dek Thargo and other stuff
12 February, 2009, 07:53:08 PM
After reading Logan's helpful comments in my announcement of now being a Subs guy I got wondering...

Who of the board is a Deca Thargo?
Who of us are Seto Thargos?
Hands up all those who hold the title of Krill Tro Thargo and how did you get the honor?
Who was the last Krill Tro Thargo awarded to?
Has this ever been awarded to the wrong person or lost the honor?
What do you get when you become a Krill Tro Thargo?

Please tell us your story.  :ugeek:

Books & Comics / Batman RIP? (Spoilers)
28 November, 2008, 12:58:30 PM
Just read this

//http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/arts_and_culture/7753966.stm

Hummm. Been getting a sinking feeling about Morrisons work for a while. Seems like he is now repeating his tiome in 2000ad
by firstly writing a lot of really cool stuff and then getting to a point where every one starts to believe his hype (including himself) and listerning to him and then he goes and balls it all up. Mark Miller seems to be doing the same as well.

Right, One for you music video lovers.

A couple of years ago I saw a music video on one of the MTV type channels and I am trying to find out what band it was for and what the track was called.

The reason I am asking the Mighty Hivemind is because the video was like a mini movie following the Journey through the cosmos of a space ship travelling from a (I think) space station to a planet (a future earth type thing). It's all CGI and has warp gate type travel and stages separating and the like and the planet the astronauts land on is all desert and environment suit worthy but has some obvious earth land mark sticking out of the sand (a bit Planet of the Apes).

So, any ideas?

Film & TV / Star Fleet: X Bomber soon to be on DVD!
22 September, 2008, 11:13:52 AM
Starfleeet, Starfleeeeet, STARFLEEEEEEET!

Starfleet logo

The Mighty X bomber

The theme tune record cover

Don't know who remembers this but forget Terrahawks (Utter Shite) for cosmic, interplanetary puppet battles Star Fleet: X Bomber made my early 80's Saturday mornings worth getting up stupidly early for. For the best bloke in a mecha suit fights forget PowerRangers this is the jobbie for you. And with an "excellent" theme tune by Dr Brian May (and friends) you just can't go wrong
Any way it's being re-released on DVD this January.

if you wanna buy it

I know there is one in Notting hill but I cant be arsed to go all the way to there from Enfield.
I picked up a replacement copy (as mine has pages missing) of the brilliant  Atomeka Press' A1 series for a princly sum of £5. Just thought the Londinium Boarders should know.

Website and Forum / After about 4 years...
03 June, 2008, 03:24:46 PM
... I still have a lack of understanding about Thread Zero. The reason I ask is I was looking in "Koom Skrree" and noticed I could see when people first posted. So I thought "Ooo, when was the first time I posted?". So I looked at my bit and low and behold Tread Zero pops up. Now I even signed out and used a different work comp and still Thread Zero. With every one else showing all there own threads.

Now, at this point I am wondering: am I Lamia just before she turns in to F-01? Am I Rose just before she gives her heart to her Grandmother?

Basiclly, I have never got my head round Tread Zero and dont understand why I cant see my own first Post?

Games / Homeworld 2/BSG Mod

If you like Battlestar Galactica and also the 3D strategy game Homeworld 2then I very much recommend this as it is coming on leaps and bounds and become quite playable. there are a few issues here and there but most are dealable with.

Events / Happy Zombie Jesus Weekend to you all!
21 March, 2008, 05:28:46 PM
Whilst I am not in any way religious, I have decided that any celebration or feast by any religion is a good excuse to wish well to one and all. So as most of you will be enjoying either a long weekend or a deeply religious time I wish you all a good one.
So Happy Zombie Jesus Weekend, Happy Pascha, Happy Eastertide, Happy Passover, and if I have left out any other festival linked to this weekend happy that too.
:)

I kid you not.

Some people have said that this is an "embarrassing parody" but for those of us not born in Scotland but who have A) Read Strontium Dog and other 2000ad strips which has had this kind of thing in it for years 2) Gotten pissed with mates from Glasgow and have found at soem point they stop making sense iii) A real interest in Scots poetry and literature, which every one should, this is pure gold as it is nice to listen to but a sod to read and a point of reference in always handy.

Books & Comics / A Dan Dare question
22 February, 2008, 04:37:17 PM
OK, this question sprung to mind when I found the firefly ref on the thought control gaming thread. The Eagle story "Return of the Mekon" started a series of stories that (according to one web site) finishes with "the Battle for Earth" all written by Pat Mills and occasionally John Wranger and drawn and painted by the Mighty Ian Kennedy. What I want to know is: will these ever be collected? And if not, why?
