Legends: The Enchanted.

Just read this beautiful book by Nick Percival and it was excellent! The story takes place in a mystical world inhabited by all manner of beasties and goblins as well as 'The Enchanted'. The latter are twisted, kick ass versions of the fairy tale characters we all loved as children. Take, for example, Rapunzal - she's a warrior with enchanted hair that can strangle or even decapitate. Jack (of the beanstalk fame) is a cool giant killer who takes narcotic-like magic beans which give him different abilities. Goldielox is a bounty hunter who patrols with her massive partner 'The Bear' and Red Riding Hood is a scythe weilding assassin who hunts down mechanical wolves...

The story begins with the murder of Pinocchio. Someone or something is killing the formally immortal Enchanted, one by one, and it's up to Jack and co to find out who, and why...

Percival's art througout is absolutely breathtaking and I found myself staring at each page for the longest time. Highly recommended.
