Nice one, I never did go and see NMA - hope you survived!

I've survived many of their gigs over the years. You should check them out, still making great new music.

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

I'm off to see Teenage Fanclub tonight, I've not seen the fannies for years!  :)

Wow yeah have to be honest didn't even know the Fannies were still going, or had got back together, whichever.

Used to love my Fannies/Tank Girl t-shirt.

They never split up & endure onwards these days with a new album... albeit they are wearing comfy jumpers on stage and half the audience were bald...

...oh and I got my first ever infamous stencil fannies T-shirt - I've only been waiting 25 years!

:)

Just ticked off:

The Cure in Manchester - loved every minute - Bob's lost a bit of timber & was on great form

Rod Stewart (Don't laugh) - he made up for some of the schmaltz with some brill old faces songs

and The Wonderstuff - second time this year and they were full of beans in their revival

Can't remember if I put down Lush's final gig (?) which was amazing & hope they are just having another break from it all.

Think I need a sit down after all that...  :)

The Flaming Lips this weekend. 1st experience of those crazy guys & looking forward to seeing what it's all about!  :)

I'm off to see Manuskript, Ghost of Lemora and Nine Day Decline at Nambucca on Holloway Road tonight (a friend's irregular gig night has now gone monthly with tonight's gig).

Seen the Flaming Lips any number of times (between them and Deerhoof for my most watched band I image) and they really are magnificent. I do wish however they'd pull back the pyrotechnics... well fluffy bunnies and what not, as its got to the point where it seems to have become more important than the material and I'd love um to strip it make and let the songs shine more.

Still no doubt you'll have a magnificent time. It is quite a show, or at least was last time I saw them.

The Flaming Lips might not be the best gig I've been to but probably was the funnest. Leave your brain at the door and enjoy!

Rhombus, supported by La Chanson Noire at Nambucca, Holloway Road on 18th of February (the Saturday after the 40th).

We had such a great time at ArcTanGent last year that we're going back again, so that'll be a fun weekend. The only bands announced so far are Converge (who my wife loves but I find a little too relentless) and Explosions In The Sky, who I've never seen so looking forward to that.

Good man! I've been a fan for many years but never seen them live.

Would love to see the guys turn up at the 40th. Extremely wishful thinking on my part!

Cheers

Would be cool if Scott Ian turned up at least, he's the Dredd fan I believe.
I've seen them twice before but not their own gig. Saw them at Donington in 1987 and then supporting Iron Maiden in 1990!
