The yellow stars mean you are arsom. Big green ones point out the shifty ones to avoid.

Amazingly vzzbux is exactly right the more yellow stars you have the better you are as a human being generally. Less stars mean you are just not as cool, popular or worth knowing. Having green stars means you are just wrong in a very fundamental way. the sort of why where people, especially including immediate members of your own family either cross the street to avoid you or start throwing stuff at you and shouting things like "Unclean!". Green also means you smell exactly like the floor in an old telephone box in Birkenhead circa 1989.

Gentlemen boarders are awarded one yellow star for every 50mm of wang.  Ladies similarly accrue status from their chubbublies (sp?), but the metric is more complex due to the tastes of the admin staff.  Green stars indicate prodigous size, but so septic as to be useless.  Despite his shortcomings, Roger gets some charity stars because his Mom is filthy.  Vincebot recently had 6 inches lopped off the end of his, but I'm sure he feels better for it.
