So many covers, so little time... And because of a complete lack of snow here in the last 36 hours, I'm at work and therefore can't listen to a damned thing.... C'mon weather gods, help me out....

In return for suggestions so far, I can highly recommend:

Michelle Shocked singing Johnny Cash's One Piece at a Time
The Fall's version of There's a Ghost In My House
Arctic Monkeys rather splendidly covering Girls Aloud's Love Machine (worth a download)

and all of the stuff that Led Zeppelin used to play to pad out their live gigs when they didn't have much of their own material....

Looks intriguing and impressive - well done on digging out the archive. Will have a read on those quiet nights whilst trying to think what to do for the story comp...

Locusts - get out of the gutter (although looking at the character names, you might be in luck...)

Locusts - victory is yours, savour it!

As for zombie carnage - fantastic!! Lovely idea and a good antidote (or inevitable conclusion?) to last month's sweaty frolicking....

WHOO HOO!

I am suitably a-quiver with excitement. Thanks to all you lovely gents and ladies who appreciated my (ahem) talents.

Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain are definitely a fave. Uncle Fester pointed out their version of Pinball Wizard to me; and their Anarchy in the UK is quite something.

(Too idle (and too much at work) to post Youtube links. Am sure you're familiar with search functionality)  :)

Cumming snow, then.

If yours appears in flakes, you should definitely see a doctor.

Ooh, the Sisters of Mercy doing Jolene sounds like FUN! (I have the White Stripes' version which is very special indeed.)

I sense my afternoon's work slipping away.....

One of my favorite covers, Kate Bush - Rocket Man.

And linking from the Kate Bush version, is the following:

Yes, William Shatner's version of Rocket Man..... Stick with it, it builds up to something quite terrifyingly brilliant (um, maybe):

Some nice eclectic indie pop plays in the background as I put out my plea to the forum:

I am addicted to cover versions. The more bizarre the better. From Paul Anka's "Jump" to Cake's "Wuthering Heights" (bested only by the Ukelele Orchestra of GB's version) to the rather splendid "The Sun Always Shines on TV" by Atrocity.

Feed my addiction!!! Any great covers out there I should know about??

Bugger couldn't find the new Yo La Tengo album OR any Cud records in town this afternoon

You might find that Uncle Fester can help you with Cud records. As far as I knew, he was their only remaining fan.....

Whoo hoo! My prayers are answered. Here comes the white rain!

Did you know that the Dutch word for snow is sneeuw. Pronounced as seen. Say it aloud and you'll sound like Kenneth Williams.

Jesus. Thats just wrong. Was this around Halloween time by any chance?!?

Bright spring morning. Daffodils all around. Birds singing. All sorts of loveliness going on and a headless labrador on the path.

Off-off topic - once on the way to work, I found a headless black dog on the pavement in front of me. Honest. I thought I'd walked into a Hammer movie.... Still a disturbing thought.....
