You had me hooked with your drawing of the 'hopping vampires' PJ. Excellent cover too. Added to my pull list in FP.

Oh, you'll like the cover to issue 3 then :)

Pre-ordered mine too! Trying out DH for the first time thanks to that link above.

I don't buy any floppies at all any more, but will definitely be buying digitally!

On my Meg Odyssey I have learnt many things, but one fundamental truth rises above all others: Mr Rennie writes a damn fine story. Add that with the art previews - I'm in! My local comic store seems to only do DC and Marvel, not even Rebellion (bah) so am also going the DH route. Thank you fellow boarders for the recommendation.

Saw a preview for this title recently - sounds right up my street.  Interested to hear about Disposable Heroes as well.  Am planning to pre-order there and switch all my standing orders to them as well.

An old-school, no-bullshit, boys-own action/adventure comic reminiscent of the 2000ads and Eagles and Warlords and Battles and other glorious black-and-white comics that were so, so cool in the 70's and 80's - Buy the hardback Christmas Annual!

Quick little press round up:

Early review at Irish Comic News

Quote
"DoM is a very intelligently written book with a wonderfully fleshed out plot combined with what could be a tent pole book of PJ Holden art and it will leave you wanting so much more. Monsterology #1 goes on sale on October 16th. I can't recommend highly enough that you pick it up. Make sure you ask your favourite comic shop to hold it for you by using Diamond code AUG131432 and jump on board."

USA Today picks Dept of Monsterology as one of their "fall" picks (ie Autumn)

Quote" Dept. of Monsterology (Renegade Arts, Oct. 16). Irish artist P.J. Holden draws up a host of beasts in this four-part feature revolving around the global investigations of weirdness by Dunsany College's Department of Cryptozoology, Mythological Studies, Parapsychology and Fortean Phenomena. Higher education has never been so hair-raising."

Publisher Alex Finbow, issues a call to action for Dept of Monsterology on Bleeding Cool.

Quote"Advance reviews are really positive and there is a growing feeling of good will towards the series, from it's strong female characters to the sense of fun to be found amongst the action. "

Can't stress this enough though: this is a new book from a new publisher and it's all ages friendly (with strong female characters(tm)) - but the preorders will make or break it BEFORE it gets a chance to be seen by people.

Bah! Went over to http://www.disposableheroes.co.uk/ to order as I now have some money in my PayPal account and they are showing issue 1 as "OUT OF STOCK".

Dunno if that's a good thing PJ, meaning the entire run is sold out, but it's a bad thing for me! I'll email them and see what they say...

It's somewhat amazing, since, strictly speaking, they've never had stock of it yet ... but who can understand the weirdness of the advanced ordering system...!

This is happened before with books not yet in stock - I think they set the numbers available to purchase to what they currently have on order and have to increase it when that allocation runs out.

This has been updated and there's now 10 more available as I type, it was 30 odd when I first checked before it went "OOS" so that's a good amount on order through DHC!
