I agree about Watchmen, I've read this several times and I must be missing the point completely, as it is just boring.

DC' Vertigo branch's mini-series 'Egypt'  this was superb and would make a lovely reprint.

I've seen quite a few women in comic stores myself, and actually had a conversation with one once, so it wasn't just a mirage.

Another reason I hate the FP in Cardiff (aside from the lack of stock, the late, happazard opening, and the 'what do you want, this is our private little club' attitude) is that when they take delivery of new stock they actually REFUSE to serve you and REFUSE to let you take any comics off the shelfs until they have put togther the 'comics to be collected' pile.  As I don't work in Cardiff and therefore have to make a special journey to visit, this really P*sses me off.

Can you tell that they didn't have what I was looking for this weekend (LOEG Graphic Novel)!  My wife is fed up of me coming home mumbling, 'I hate that shop, I will never go there again......'

Does anyone have their own favourite or mosted hated comic book stores?

My own personal favourite was Gosh in London (top store circa 1992 (don't know what it's like now though) closely follwed by Terry's shop in the Indoor Market in Newport South Wales (Negative Zone I think it's called).  Most hated is Forbidden Planet in Cardiff (terrible display system can't find anything and they are always out of stock of the good stuff), and the most dissapointing was Jonathon Ross and Paul Gambochine's shop (ignore spelling please).

God I must be bored to be thinking about this lot.

I don't know anything about this Scojo guy(?),  but this entire discussion is only promoting his script.  I tried to find it, but (luckily?) couldn't spot it.  So if you want this to stop, then maybe just let it lie.

By the way, I think it's a bit unfair that if anyone mentions that computer game they risk the chance of automatically being associated with this person.

A little off-topic but I once saw a page of Dredd original artwork from the Blood of Satanus story (one of my all time faves) for sale (Auction?) on bid-up-TV on Sky.

Does anyone know if this was a one-off or were any more offered, and is it going to happen again.  Plus if anyone knows if artwork from this story is still available then please let me know as I'd like to have it if the price is right.

Cheers,

M.

General / Will the new Judge Dredd Game(s) be any good?
12 December, 2002, 05:45:06 PM
What do people think?  Does anyone have any insider info on what the PS2 version is really going to be like?

I'm keeping all my digits crossed in hope that it will rock (or at least not suck).  It would be great if the game was good enough to increase the profile of Dredd and the comics, and get new some readers onboard.

As anyone seen the old Spectrum 2000AD related games? I downloaded the JD and Rogue Trooper games for a laugh again the other day.  It's great seeing Dredd jumping 8 foot high from a standing position.

Why is the JD/Aliens story being published in the progs (not that I'm complaining)?  I would have thought this would have received the standard cross-over mini-series treatment that everytihng else gets when it's an Aliens or Predator thingy.

Is it going to get a release in this format or similar in the near future?

General / Re: Loose ends

Which crystal skull guy was this then?  I don't remember this, what was the general story?

Also for loose ends, I think there was a story back in the days of the annuals, set in a Cursed Earth research lab.  There was two mutants, one woman who could move her hair in an extra appendage style way, and one guy with glowing eyes and a lot of psychic (?) type power.  Last thing I remember was her biting the bullet and him floating off into the distance looking all menacing like.  Anyone else remember this (or how it actually went?

I tried to sell my collection a few years ago (lack of space forcing the issue), but the only interest I had was in specific progs that people needed to cplete their collections.

I was also trying to get rid of all me old DC's such as Sandman (full collection), death of Superman (sadly till bagged!), etc. But again not a sniff of real interest.

In the end, I bought a bigger house with a garage to store the things in, seems to be keeping the wife happy for the moment.

PS - How on earth did you get the wife to read anything comic related.  I have had no luck since the DC (Vertigo) Egypt mini-series from a couple of years ago.  THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT REPRINT FOR THE MEG BY THE WAY (IMHO).
