I can't actually understand why he would get so defensive about what is after all harmless fan tributes. Perhaps he is afraid that someone might upstage him by writing a story that isn't as dull and cliched as most of his have become.

I thought the dialogue in Slaine's battle with Balor was some of the worst I've ever seen. I didn't see the need for Slaine to explain what he and Balor were doing to each other, as it was quite evident from the pictures.

If Pat felt there was a need to explain it, why didn't he do so with a narrative box? It was like a child had written it...Oh no my shield has been melted by Balor, leaving me with just the spikey part of it, but never mind, I'll just stab Balor in the eye with it...and then I'll stab him in the eye again with it etc, etc.

Pat Mills what has happened to the glorious scribe you used to be?

Perhaps we could get Frank Miller to write Dredd: The Dark Judge Returns. We'd have to kill him if he threatened to write a sequel though.

Some stuff good, some stuff bad. Let's give him another chance and see if we are all pleasantly surprised or just left sighing with despair.

I felt the recent stories were a little weak, and would rather see something with a bit more depth to it. Perhaps a series consisting of 2 to 4 part stories instead just to create a better view of the parallel reality.

So that you can tell left from right.

Why do we drink cows milk, yet are repulsed by the thought of drinking human milk?

Not sure if this is right or not but wasn't the original V.C.s based on the novel Starship Troopers?

I remember this from the time it was announced, and I also remember leaked plot details that it involved a very old Avon coming out of retirement to carry on the fight against a newly developed Federation Alliance with an hitherto unknown party.

Personally, I would go for an all new cast playing the old members, because if we're honest, the oldies would just look wrong now. My own personal suggestions for the crew (based on actual feasibility) would be:

Blake: Aidan Gillen

Avon: Jack Davenport

Villa: Reece Shearsmith

Jenna: Samantha Janus

Cally: Neve McIntosh

Gan: Spudgun from off "Bottom"

But I'll probably change my mind about them by the end of the week, so if anyone else has any suggestions for a possible (by BBC budget)revamped cast, feel free to add them.
