Announcements / Re: Judge Dredd Movie is Green Lit!

Christopher Lee played Count Dooku in AOTC and ROTS and he is in his 80's but they got round the problem with his physical role by employing stunt men and CGI.

General / Re: Favourite Dreddisms

One of my all time favorites is from the JUDGE CHILD QUEST. Dredd has put himself up for sale in a slave market in order to gain access to FARO. The slave trader is telling the crowd how good Dredd's teeth are and Dredd's reply........."Cut the wise stuff! Mess this up and i'll boot your head" Priceless.

General / Plagerism/Inspiration
21 February, 2010, 07:25:46 PM
Just read a thread on another board on this forum about the similarities between Avatar and Firekind. Got me thinking about how many other stories/movies out there have found "inspiration" from the pages of 2000ad and vice versa for that matter. A couple spring to mind,SHOK/HARDWARE, did Michael Critchon read The Cursed Earth?,ROBOCOP/DREDD. I sometimes feel that if we see something that remotely resembles anything thats been in 2000ad there is always comparisons etc bordering on claims of plagerism but when its the other way round ie SKIZZ/ET for example, the word inspiration usually pops up.

Welcome to the board / Re: Hello again

Thanks guys.I tend to buy 2000ad and the Meg just for Dredd really, the odd story gets my attention but mainly its Dredd i read. I love the way the character has progressed. Was looking at some of the earlier stuff not long ago and it was ok for the time but now its seems very cringeworthy(remember the bloodhound droid in The Robot Wars and the so out of place Ron Turner artwork on that episode). I think the last few years has been excellent with some great stories Sin City, Mandroid and i loved Origins, some of us have been waiting years for that.

Excluding The Apocalypse War and Judgement Day has anyone have any idea of how many people Dredd has executed over the years?
