not sure if this counts as a cover version or a parody

love a bit of the Toy Dolls -  Kids in Tyne and wear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFl2aneXFJ8

Awesome tune where abouts in sunderland did you live????
loveforstitch - Does he fall in love? I like a little romance in all my movies.

Rekaert - Yes, he demonstrates it with bullets, punches and sentencing.

He's Mega City 1's own Don Juan.

oooph, just remembered another (but can't search for link at the mo) - On his '1000 years of Popular Music' album, Richard Thompson did an awesome cover of Britney Spears' "Oops I did it again" - though it does contain the feeblest audience singalong I've ever heard!

Kyuss covering Black Sabbaths - Into the Void.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyyoNnQEpSc

Megadeth covering Black Sabbath - Paranoid.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOITTHUzooI

As far as eccentric Slayer covers go, I've always liked this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2FvK54LWCg

Apparently they slightly changed the lyrics because Tom refused to sing the word 'love' or variants thereon.

Creaming Jesus's take on Temple of Love but the Sisters of Mercy is always worth listening to, as they renamed it 'Temple of Shite'. I should say I am a huge Sisters fan but there you go.

Creamers version of 'A Forest' is also great.

Revolting Cocks also do a great and hugely sleezy version of 'Do You Think I'm Sexy' There was a limited version of the 12" and cd which came in a sleeve full of KY jelly. Having had one for about twenty years or so I can reliable inform you that KY Jelly is perishable!

For me, the masters will always be Tragedy, the all metal tribute to the Bee Gees. I've seen them twice no less.

Oh dear. That pretty much represents everything I hate about cover versions. Novelty metal covers!!  >:(

Conversely, here's The Sisters covering a song that really shouldn't suit their style.

And for a long, long time I thought 'Gimme Shelter' was a Sisters of Mercy song.  I've since come to prefer the original Stones one, mind you

Without shadow of a doubt, The Ramones are a prime example of a band that could knock out one great cover after another. Seeing a mention of Britney Spears, however, reminded me of this

On my computer the music is a little out of sync with the images but I'm guessing that's cos my laptop is on its way out.
