This is a very complicated case, Gumpty.
You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous.
And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old kaplower's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind limber.

I'd like to say your never going to get it, but honestly some of you got so close its scary.
But panic over, my mate Walter found my doppelganger (he's some fat guy in a wheelchair, though Walter thinks he might be faking), we're going over to his house after bowling tonight to sort this out.

Persian Fire by Tom Holland is good too.
I'm not ready to give up on Miller just yet,
This could be great. Themistocles is just the kind of character that Miller could do really well.

With spelling mistakes there's a fine line between pointing out unintentional hilarity and just being mean. Please make sure you know which side of the line you're on, baklaam kaplow.

Sorry Mr. Usher I thought I was on the right side

but if not Doctor Alt 8 no offence meant
...and Roger it looks like the rape is off, (I don't want to get barred from the forum)

This is my problem my real name is rare my family is tiny and my christian name is an obscure form of spelling of an unpopular name (not Adolf) but now I find out someone else shares it and has been using it freely as their internet moniker
So people who google me are confusing me with this other character ascribing  their interests with mine leading to some odd gifts and expectations of expertise in areas I have no interest
Thats  an inconvenience admittedly but its all fine so far
But what if it gets worse what if this person joins the BNP or starts a Country music singing career?
I don't want to be Michael Bolton!
Suggestions please?

Not a huge thing but:
I was out last night in Dublin for a few quiet drinks with mates

I was having a smoke in the beer garden of a pub near Balls Bridge when along came two lads in  Leinster Rugby shirts.

Leinster just beat their rivals Munster in a Magners League semi-final and these lads were were legless, no doubt caused by the vicarious thrill of the win

Now they were loud and not very well cordinated (they used every piece of street furniture and each other as a crutch or a barrier in the ongoing struggle to remain upright and out of traffic)
but they weren't really bothering me or any one else untill they decided that the lamp post outside the pub was 'just begging' to be climbed (their words)

Long story short.
One lad was a third of the way up the lamp post holding on for dear life while sitting on the head of the other (whose grip was as tight as his mate's probably for balance)

This is when two GardaĆ turned up; an old guy and a young guy (maybe a cadet?).

There was a moment's silence, as  everyone caught up with the situation then the  older Garda said something that I swear will stay with me to the grave;

-Ah lads

He said it like he was dissapointed with the two eejits, as if he'd expected better from them.
The two boys looked chastened as if the Garda had drained their spirits from them. (...and their beer and their wine...)

This astonished me, I would have expected if I thought about it, for the two to be charged or have something else official done to them.

Instead the younger cop called them a cab and sent them home they went without complaint.

This kind of paternalistic non-confrontational policing freaked me out.
No one else at the time ,all were native Dubliners, saw anything odd about this.
One girl even claimed that the local cop used to give her a lift home when she had no money for a taxi after a night out.
This upsets me even more

Is it because I'm so used to Dredd's no nonsense 'beat the crime out of them' approach?
Have I been indoctrinated into a world view where authority is uncompromising and wilfully brutal?

Or could this quite unassuming guard be (whisper it, in awe) ...the Anti-Dredd?

Either way, I'm not going out tonight....I don't need my world view shattered
