Another 2000ad great gone. Sad news.

Childhood hero gone. Darrow and Jacqueline Pearce made B7 for me. I remember meeting him at a tv and film memorabilia fair years ago. I recall the gritted-teeth grin he gave as two fanboys stood there and just shouted lines from the show at him!

Well done brother!

Sad news. A great artist. I don't know much about him or his work outside of 2000ad but his prog work certainly made an impression. Shako and Flesh were the strips that my Dad feared were too gory for his pre-teen sons. Thank God Mum had the deciding vote.

Sad news to hear about the passing of a great ambassador for the medium. As a kid I used to read the Marvel UK reprints of the original FF Lee/Kirby stories (as well as the British humour comics and 2000ad of course!) Back then, DC never seemed to appeal to me whereas Marvel had a kind of youthful vibrancy about it.

Already written my piece on the RIP thread but it is terrible news. His passing is a loss to 2000ad and to comics as a whole.
