Flash Gordon was great. The gold old days when CGI did not exist

The art keeps on being great. Will be difficult being a judge

Prog / Re: Prog 2013

I just read prog 2013 (aka prog 1812.5), and my version is the PDF and it has a bunch of un-numbered "Behind the Scenes" pages (17 of 'em).  I was wondering if those were also present in the printed version and, if so, in what format (given that they're not numbered and have a different page size).

I look at the digital version as well and its page count is 117 pages. The Christmas prog is normally 100 pages long, thus I am sure the "Behind the Scenes" where only in the digital version.

As for current stories :

The one about the drunk, 80-a-day policeman investigating the paranormal (did he have cancer as well?) - sorry can't remember the title. Amazing art though

The Series is called Absalom, with the many character's name is Harry Absalom. The are is done by Tiernen Trevallion. If you like his art he has a strip that is running in the Judge Dredd Megazine No 398-399 called Strange Brigade.

Apologies for the inexplicable typos.....my phone is always very keen to swap real words for complete nonsense. That's my excuse anyway.

Don't worry your post was better constructed than the script for The Last Jedi  :D

I am the opposite where his earlier work did not work for me.

Define "earlier"!  Early Coleby may as well be an entirely different artist.  Contrast his work in the Rogueverse on Jaegir with these:

One artist whose development has been simply phenomenal.  From Low Life on he can do no wrong.

I am talking about when he started working on Friday and some Dredd stroies but you are correct his development was phenomenal

New run of Britannia: Lost Eagles of Rome was off to a decent start last week. New artist but not too jarring a change and no surprise that the sexy gladiatrix from the last series is press-ganged into the team.

That's got my interest... never saw the first run, has it been collected?

This is actually the third run and both the previous two where collected.

Well worth it and I will wait for Britannia: Lost Eagles of Rome to be collected again before I get it.

More importantly I have to say that this is the best work by Coleby in years.  I've not been a great fan of his new style, I liked it but much preferred his original style as it had more clarity to it with it's open spaces and
clear line.  His shadows and heavy blacks sometimes confused me.  This works so well, it's more accommodating for O'Grady's colours and easier to read even at the smaller page size.

I am the opposite where his earlier work did not work for me. He has become one of my favourite artist. His work on this and the recent Jaegir was great. You must check out his work he has done for Vertigo on The Royals: Masters of War (2014), this is some of his best work ever.

All of the above, plus the next issue is the landmark #400 — a ‘jumping on’ issue. It also has the return of ‘Lawless’, one of the best strips in either the Prog or Meg of recent years. If you were thinking of starting reading, I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough.

Couldn't agree with Jim more on this.....the meg is consistently excellent.  Lawless is also my favourite story of recent years (....andthe artwork is consistently breathtaking) and worth the price of admission on its own.

Yes, I agree. The Meg is really excellent and a well balanced publication. Not only do you get at a few Dreddverse stories but also  stories that is little bit different like Strange Brigade (a strip based upon Rebellions up and coming video game). You also get some create diverse articles.

Another character that is returning which is never mentioned anywhere is Max the Computer and the Thirteenth Floor

Simon Coleby art is great as usual and well complemented with coloring by Len O'Grady. The main story felt little bit rushed and maybe should have been done in 3 part mini series like the upcoming Resistance story. Hopefully their will be more because this looks very promising.

Question for the guys that do not have a digital subscription: I noticed that the 3rd page of the Dredd story the scan quality is quite poor and very hazy is this the  same for the printed version ?

Makes sense for it to be a Dredd floppy in the 400th issue.....maximum Dredd I guess.

Yes, it makes sense (it is not called Judge Dredd Megazine for nothing) but I was really looking forward to Mind Wars. So hopefully #401 will contain this

Another great Meg with Strange Brigade and The Returners the highlights.

Just picked this up, and have noticed the next floppy (in #400) is another Dredd one. Thought it was supposed to be Return To Armageddon?
And, #400 is to be perfect bound. Whoop!
Rest of the Meg looks splendid this month too.

I thought it was supposed to be Mind Wars?  Another great Redondo strip.

That was also my understanding and I was looking forward to Mind Wars. I never read this strip so little bit disappointed with the floppy next month.
