hey guys

its pretty much what it says on the tin.

I've been circulating aropund the small press and indie scene for the past year now and i've have to be the sole artist on many a project, this has been fine with short stories and the like but i'd like to have a collaborator of sorts to work with on certain projects which i am working on which is too much for one guy.

I've listed the work i require help on.

switchblade gunsmith:
an ongoing action western, set in arizona 1880 about a vigilante gunslinger caught in a cannibal cult that stinks from local government right up to washington.
This is currently undergoing a revamp and getting a colourist is vital on this. chances of publication is good but the writer is the one to talk to there.

the images below are ones used to shift to publishers many of whom expressed interest.

2000ad and Marvel submission pages

I'd like to a Dredd submission for months now and the same goes for uncanny Xforce. my sci-fi iis considerably darker then my western work and i have no qualms in you using the work for you portfolio.

they are the main two things i need help on.I'd like to think if these go well they can be  the start of a good working relationship.

If you are interested give us a pm or an email.and we'll take it from there.

links/portfolio is a must please! although i can email you a page.

if you'd like to see more work, my links as ever are on the footer bit and it all colouring was my own.I've found that my art suits most kinds of colouring so that may be a bonus.

As crazy as that sounds i'm not joking.

WHAT IS ENTER THE CRUCIBLE?

in a nut shell, ETC is a non profit digital magzine I've been planning over sometime, and as I am going to uni to do Visual communications i thought it would be a great idea to start now...However what started as a small press comic anthology has turned into something more...

A magazine dedicated to showing the artwork of small press sequential artists:

NO RESTRICTIONS OF GENRE OR EDITORIAL TASTE :IF YOUR WORK IS HIGH ENOUGH QUALITY THEN IT WILL HAVE A HOME HERE

SOME KIND OF EXPOSURE; I HOPE TO GET THIS UNDER THE NOSES OF AS MANY PEOPLE WE CAN WHICH MAY INVOLVE SOME KIND OF SOCIAL MEDIA SOLIDARITY.

SENSE OF COMMUNITY;I KNOW THAT THIS FORUMS GREAT BUT THERE ARE OTHERS AS YOU MAY ALL KNOW AND VISIT WHICH CAN BENEFIT FORM SOMETHING LIKE THIS.

they are the main driving factors for this so on to the nitty gritty.

WHO IS THIS GUY?

Yeah I've only been around for a few months but after leaving school in the summer all the awesome art i've seen here and elsewhere suggests to me that sequential art in the UK is way more progressive than genre or longings for childhood nostalgia.

if you've hit my links that i post then you'd see I'm dedicated to great design in sequential art and on the web
www.mdkennedyia.wordpress.com

so if you're a innovative and progresive sequential artist who also writes and has a bustling portfolio of graphic art that wants to be tapped into then enter the crucible is the place for you!

NO WRITERS THEN?

no scripts or anything please, It's a showcase for artists, if an artist submits some work you've written then you're in luck otherwise sorry guys...

BUT...

there will be spaces for ongoing comics so if the artist says yes then it will be considered for issues.

HOWEVER...
If you consider yourself to be a news gatherer/journalist any level then you will be needed for the site stuff and writing features. so don't hesitate if you like the sound of that.

INTERESTED?

great more can be found at http://crucibleonline.wordpress.com through the call to arms! post.

be sure to hit all the links artists and tell your friends!

ESPECIALLY THE SAMPLE ISSUE LINK!
this is  sample of what will feature in the mag.it's all my own work so in your mind, replace that with your stuff anc GET IN TOUCH to be part of something potentially big.

Books & Comics / MK comics

Just created this thread to alert you to comics created by myself

iv'e had some great feed back so it is time to share with everyone else

I have two titles so far the first being:

AN ARROW FROM HELL.

"Set during the second and third crusade, 'An arrow from hell' is a mixture of of the historical and the occult with multiple myths and legend interwoven with 12th century life in the middle east."

combining the first two storys initially produced for webcomic release.this one shot includes 22 pages of the main story aswell as the 4 page short that inpired the story.

this is availiable for £0.75 digital download at http://www.comicsy.co.uk/michaelkennedy/store/products/an-arrow-from-hell-one-shot/

there are sample pages availiable on the store item for you to browse before purchasing.

DIRT:the debate

"a prequel to the upcoming series DIRT.I've produced a four page short that will set the scene for the story.Revolving mainly around a reimagination of the Public Domain character mr X. The short should hopefully create an atmoshphere for the story."

this is availiable for £0.01 at comicsy as it is only four pages long. http://www.comicsy.co.uk/michaelkennedy/store/products/dirtthe-debate/
(alternatively this is downloadable for free at my main site.)

i would very much appreciate comments on comicsy or to my site where there is contact form.

Creative Common / cycle of boredom?
12 September, 2012, 10:59:08 AM
hey everybody

was just searching through the massive thread about submissions and a few questions have came to mind...

1.are artists submssions restricted to scripts given or can you use some thing else?i was gonna have a go at cycle of violence as it was my favoirate out of them all but seems clearly drained of life.which massively puts me off.

2.the artwork rules seem quite strict, can you submit coloured work?

3.what size should it be sent as? A4...A3?

4.is there any editorial preferences about the stlye of art work? most stuff is quite diverse in the progs but are there any no no's?

check my stuff out at www.michaelkennedyillustrationart.wordpress.com

any feedback/critique is welcome on this thread or to my mail box at mike_ky@hotmail.co.uk

thanks!
