Professor Bear

When you find a nice spot in Horizon, give the photo mode a go.  You can adjust the field of view, colour saturation, remove the player character from the shot, add filters, etc, but mainly it's great for just looking at the in-game world.

More goodies there, cheers - as a good squaxx I did consider Sniper Elite 4, but the claim of 'shrapnel view!' on the back put me off a tad.

Good eyes, you basically see a live, colour xray autopsy at the moment of death if you make a good shot :D

I think you can turn it off in the options but it'd be easy for the kids to reactivate it.. Great game when they're old enough though.

I'd suggest Okami, Shadow of the colossus and Grim Fandango. Loved those as young, and I think they still hold up brilliantly. The shadow of colossus remake being particularly impressive, remade from the ground up.

Last guardian could also be a really good game. As a player it feels like there's a genuine connection between you and the cat monkey dragon friend of your's.

Oooh,  nice! Missed some of those entirely,  cheers!

Updating our PS4 progress, I'm afraid the hegemony of Fortnight is uncontested in this house now (harmless good-natured murder, where one-shot elimination is softened by watching your killer's celebratory dance moves), but still giving superb value-for-money is Horizon Zero Dawn,  a game so beautiful that I regularly watch my son playing it just to ogle the changing foliage (NB: not a euphemism).

Has anyone got Battlefield V?

If so, is it ok for a 12 year old?  He's desperate for it for his birthday, but I suspect it might be a bit sweary.

I, Cosh

Never played it but I'm struggling to imagine what swears a normal twelve year old hasn't heard.
We never really die.

Funt Solo

I watch Kripparian (Hearthstone streamer) videos with my six year old.  Kripparian drops the F bomb every two sentences, but my daughter knows it's a taboo word and so she doesn't use it.  Her go-to expletive is "Oh my goodness!"

Allegedly the c bomb gets dropped somewhere, but I find that hard to believe.

Zenith 666

Oshii.highly reccomend The Last of us and God of war  for yourself (couple more years for your son) and hollow knight on the store is amazing (and hard).
