Hello, I am a recent reader of the comics, funny story. A friend on Facebook was constantly posting about it and I was wondering what his hype was all about. Then one day I looked the 1995 Stallone ver. in the que, watched it. Then I went and looked up Dredd with Urban in it...thought it was a great movie.
Then I decided to read up on it's lore on it, so I ordered the Case filed #5 on Amazon, so I'm starting there. Then I saw the 2000AD app I could download and install, not sure if I want to start pulling THAT thread just yet.
But yeah, I can now see the appeal of the franchise as it's got an entire universe going on and a prospective cinematic universe to be competitive with other franchised CUs. :-)
Welcome aboard- feel free to ask questions- many of the boarders here are 'very' well versed in the history of Dredd and the other strips in 2000 AD.
As well as the case files- you should jump on into the regular issues and see why this is the greatest comic in the multiverse.

Welcome aboard! I am going to plug Nikolai Dante as a must read strip outside of the Dredd world but there are of course many many other brilliant strips to choose from.
