Mash-up - these are the leftovers the poor souls who I had to have in the tourney but who didn't land in any of the categories - largely as they were full! I gave the group a name to try to make it look that this was planned properly!

The Barp from Parp is one of my favourite characters ever - though the nation loves a get-rich-quick schemer with a heart of gold (just look at Del Boy Trotter) it's an underused archetype in 2000AD. But let's can the blubberoni and vote, good buddies - Ace Garp for the big byms!

The best thing about everyone's favourite Robo-Hunter, and indeed his defining feature, is exasperation. Exasperation and haplessness. Ace Garp'll never gnaw the claw - Sam's are probably gnawed to stumps. This makes him hugely relatable. That he never quite manages to equal the quality of his first story is probably also a source of exasperation. The vote is for Sam C. Slade - the C stands for "Can't beat Versus."

I take it there's another mash-up category coming, for a certain foul deviant to appear in? Or did I vote for him in a previous round and have completely forgotten about it?

It going to be interesting to see how this vote develops. In my mind this is the 'toughest' draw. As this is the 'leftovers' there some A and top B list characters here in my mind and certianly if you compare it to other groups its a stinker to be in. I think any of these characters, would win two or three other groups without breaking sweat. I'm not expecting a break out winner (though that might be proving to be wrong!) here so looking forward to seeing how this one develops.

I could be miles off but that's my take. But also some of the reason I've done things this way to mix things up as much as possible.

Okay. I'm going Ace Garp for starters. Resourceful, loyal, and daring - but tricksy and money-grabbing at the same time. A great character who's very much the heart of what's ostensibly an ensemble strip.

And... Zombo, just edging it over Sam by virtue of Slade already doing rather well in the vote without my help. Can I eat you, please?
