Sometimes really unusual pieces surface on Ebay.
Take this recent purchase for example; a Sandman bookmark hand painted by Colleen Doran.

Pretty cool, eh?

A new purchase for me. Was a massive Dark Horse fan back in the very early 90's, so was glad to be able to snag this. Love Chris Warner's art, and loved those early Predator tales.

Lovely stuff! Those early Dark Horse 'Predator' comics were great fun!

Lovely page that. Never red it but it is very dynamic.
It's a joke. I was joking.

Fantastic Warner page there.
I too was a huge fan of Dark Horse at the time, in particular Preadator & Aliens.

Best of the era IMO was 'Bloody Sands of Time' (also by Warner).

Well, well, well. He might no longer be around these parts but bloomin' heck well done Dale.

The terrible thing is we will never be able to afford a page of 2000ad art again now he has this much to spend!

Dale traded it for some other vintage 2000AD pages so this was sold by its new owner...

I predicted that the page would do very well in the last episode of Inky Fingers http://inkyfingerspodcast.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/inky-fingers-podcast-episode-003-august.html  (plug over)

Arh - I wonder if he feels he got this sort of value?

Received this direct from artist Tony Roberts yesterday.
This was painted in 1973, and was originally used for the cover of the Thomas Disch novel '334'.
But I first came across it when it was used in the Spacewreck - Ghostships and Derelicts Of Space (A Terran Trade Authority Handbook) in 1979, which is an absolute fave of mine.
