Never thought I'd consider buying a Tharg either, but that looks SO good I'm considering it.

Wake

Does anyone else think this looks like Joe Pineapples?

Mike Gloady

In his early days, you mean?  Yeah, it is very reminscent isn't it?

Has anyone asked TMO himself what he thinks about that?  It looks like him in his younger days more than now, but I'm sure that's just Ash flattering him.

Tharg the Mighty in Botox Shocker!

It does a great job of capturing the early-era Tharg, eh?

the_Zomboid

wow. normally i would not go out of my way to get anything like this but man i would go ape for a full set of ABC Warriors (any line-up) and a decent Rogue Trooper.

There's a lot of enthusiasm brewing on the 3A boards for all things 2000AD, which is great to see...  Also a thread for 2000AD original art has  just gone up, so feel free to jump in and share your favourite pieces.  Personally, I think we need Rufus's tats in the art thread, and I said as much already :D

No interest in Tharg, but Johnny Alpha and Wulf dressed in their 'The Killing' outfits would be worth a look (I'm not suggesting Wulf looks any different, but I did prefer Johnny's studded shoulder armour and vambraces).

Well pimped, Ming.  Sounds like another interesting chat's going on about Twoth.  Surely Emp should be involved?

Dunno, dunno and... dunno.

A previous 3A 1/6 figure that went up for preorder at the start of January was $80 (USD) and one that's anticipated now is expected at $150, I think (I posted a pic of the $80 Tommy Mission earlier in this thread).  I'd be surprised if Tharg was much over $100 but I guess we'll see soon enough.  He's probably not coming with a lot of accessories (I'm keeping fingers crossed for a half-eaten polystyrene cup) which might help keep costs down.

Ash isn't expecting Tharg to set any sales records, but it's a great way to start the 2000AD line and where would we be without ol' Green Bonce?

Numbers and timing?  Nothing announced or really hinted at yet, but as soon as I hear anything I'll post it here.  If I can get any answers, I'll let you know.  Meanwhile, try to be patient.

Two other things:
(1) 3A sales are sometimes exclusive to Bambaland (3A online sales) which is PayPal only; depending on how much warning we're given and the nature of the release, it may pay to register with Bambaland and have a PayPal account set up.
(2) Prices at Bambaland include shipping anywhere in the world (such as that $80 figure - it's $80 including shipping) but these are all preorders, so the wait after ordering can be lengthy - 6 to 8 weeks, maybe more in some cases.

Anything else I can do to help, just let me know.  I'll do what I can to pimp 2000AD over at 3A and to smooth any 3A issues over here as far as I'm able.

Oh, and Ash seems very keen to make a Gronk figure (which is great - I mean Johnny & Wulf are racing certainties, but having a Gronk to go with them...?  Great stuff.)

Mike Gloady

GRONK?  Hurray!

Thanks for an informative post, Ming.

You're welcome!  It might help if I remembered to put the Bambaland link in, though.
