Frankenstein Created Woman

Interesting. I've always thought that was the worst of the Hammmer Frankenstein cycle after 'Evil...'.

I've seen the original Ladykillers I don't know how many times, and never seem to get tired of it.

Carry On at Your Convienience is no great shakes, and one of the most dated these days. The plot (such as there is) disintergrates halfway through and gives way to a lot of misplaced improv at the seaside before a half-hearted attempt at a satisfying finale. There's no Babs, no Butterworth, and Charles Hawtree (even Kenny Williams for that matter!) are criminally underused.

Khyber is clearly the best, followed closely by Screaming. I've also got soft spots for Camping and Constable, but I can watch just about any of the pre-1971 films ad infinitum.

Cowboy is shit, though, sorry Jim.

I don't think I'd like it if I'd never seen it before, but I'm a longtime fan of his small press work and just think it's great that he's made the big-time.

And it never hurts to have Chris Blythe as your colourist!

That's great. They look vaugely crap and slightly embarassing, but so brimming with optimism you want to give them a chance.

Just like they should. I suspect we'll spend very little time with them in the film, though.

Your firewall might be blocking the patch from being downloaded, if it's set to filter out harmful stuff from the 'net. You'll have to set the firewall up so that it allows this patch through. How to do it I wouldn't know (bit of a luddite, me) but there are usually instructions on the 'help' topics if you go to the game's web page (I'm assuming it has one).

There's something wrong if I can't get excited about a film that contains so many angry mammoths.

Awful cover. There's better on offer in our art threads.

Nice bubble-helmeted retro Dredd. Is this baddie the one that appeared in the prog last time, drawn by Gibson? Fairly good Rennie tale, although the art doesn't seem quite as polished as when we last saw the team.

Considering Armitage is a slow-burn, grayscale, kitchen-sink character-based drama it should be bloody awful, but it keeps surprising me by being my favourite thing in each Meg. Loved that Carry On-style page. Cooper seems much more comfortable now, too, although I think if it's got too many more parts to run it's really going to start dragging.

I like Bob, even if no-one else seems to. Over-eloquent characters who never shut up are great, and I always prefer my Ezquerra black and white. Only thing that makes it feel a bit 'so what?' is the lack of a defined universe.

Still can't get into Tempest. So much running around. What's the point? And the main character is far too self-knowingly 'kooky.' For donkey's I've been waiting for a good Undercity-set tale, and this ain't it. All that said, this part was pretty entertaining, the 'Best. Human. Ever.' line made me cackle, and I didn't see that last revelation coming. It's the art that turns me off this strip most.

Strontium Dog... I didn't realise Brit-cit existed in Stronty. I thought I read somewhere that London was a blasted hole in that reality, but nice to see the mega-city link to Dredd-world.

The way I choose to read all this (and thereby neatly bypass continuity problems) is that Brit-Cit acts as a sort of hub for the Wagner multiverse, the constant that connects Robo-Hunter, Dredd and Stront (any more?) across their different dimensions, the same way that the Temple of Mithras is the hub of the Edgyverse.

Wow. Interesting thread to come late to.

Does this mean I'm the only royalist on the board?

just got the new previews and it shows a robo hunter cover if that helps ( a gibson cover n'all)

SHIT! There go my chanes of getting that final Robo-Hunter trade, then, if the last of it's being dumped in an EE. I appreciate the chance of at least getting to read the last of the stuff, rather than just never see it, but still... SHIT! :-(

VCs and Ro-Busters are coming in trades later this year, but I'd love to see Return to Armageddon, Canon Fodder, more Al's Baby or Armoured Gideon. Or, better yet, surprise me, Tharg!

I too have steered clear of the EEs for some time now. Following Mean Team directly wth Mean Arena seems like a bit of a blunder.
