The concept behind 'Truth in Journalism' is one I've had for a while. It was actually an idea I had for either a 'Dredd' sequel or a 'Duke Nukem' movie. The idea was to take 'Man Bites Dog,' that super-niche movie, and mash it up with a well-known antihero. Essentially then, you're making a dark comedy. It's a concept where you're taking a character that's inherently over the top, then you drop him or her into an overly realistic, grounded reality. So you have everyone around this person scratching their heads going, "Dude, why is this guy behaving like a cartoon character?" -Adi Shankar (producer)




Looking forward to seeing it although I think Duncan Jones has him beat on the same 'found footage' idea for a DREDD film. Maybe they should get together:

Duncan Jones's science fiction passion project Mute will be made as a graphic novel through Dark Horse Comics.

The Moon director revealed on Twitter that he is collaborating with artist Glenn Fabry on the project, which will be based on a Blade Runner-esque script Jones has been working on for several years.

Mute follows a silent bartender searching for his missing girlfriend in a futuristic Berlin. Jones has struggled to finance the project due to its dark and visually ambitious nature.

The movie was proposed to be shown with "Evangelion 3.0" by Suzuki Toshio and Anno Hideaki agreed with that. As a movie version, its pictures and sounds will we re-modified and it has the total length of 10:07 minutes. The movie features "Kyoshinhei" (Giant God Warriors) from "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" and it was made to show the fascination and the fun of Miniature Tokusatsu.]
