Definitely true for the mega stars - I kinda agree that they have to charge a fee though, or else people will be flogging their signatures off for personal profit - it happened at GenCon a few years ago with someone signing CCG cards of their character (for free) and then people were going to the trade hall and selling them for ?20 each... But why can't Mr Mega-star collect the money for a charity instead?

However, when you get chaps that played "3rd X-wing pilot from the right" charging a tenner a sig at conventions, it's fair enough as they're probably not getting paid much as they're now doing stage work or the odd appearance on 'The Bill'...

Yeah, but we'll hopefully get a better cut of Alien 3 with all the bits that Fox/Weaver cut out and that Fincher wanted kept in (I think it's the plot bits with the 'Bald English Dudes' in)

Now all we need is a version of Alien Resurrection with Joss Whedon's ending...

And the Airlock scene in Alien - I've always wanted to see that, but they never filmed the Alien side of it.

And you can probably get ?20 off the price of the Quadrology by flogging off your current 4 disc box set.

I believe they're using the Total War engine (from the Shogun: Total War! and Medieval: Total War! games).

Gits, they should've spoken to me about using the engine from Tribal Lore - a Celtic Fantasy RTS that I worked on many years ago (before it got canned)

Eddings deteriorated in quality the more he went on - Belgariad was outstanding, Mallorean less so, Elenium was OK, Tamuli was bad (he started rehashing plot points), Belgarath was OK, Polgara was excellent, Redemption of Althalus was bollocks and I don't dare touch his new one after reading several reviews of it. His characterisations are wonderful, but his plots need reworking (he's used the same one several times now) and he's too afraid to let bad things happen to his characters nowadays.

The Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin has been very good so far, and I've recently just read Daggerspell and enjoyed it (Not sure how the rest of the series pans out though).

Oh yeah - Pratchett. Nice bloke, first few books were good, but the rest are very average unless you're a frothing fanboy.

I have no problems with copying the odd game/film/cd here and there - but there's no way I'm paying some shitbag money for them doing it for me - so I can honestly say I'd go next door and pay ?29 for Halo 2 (which will be worth every penny)

Yeah, but the problem is that you get E-bay 'snipers', that find an auction they want, bookmark it, and then go back to it about 2 minutes before it's due to end and then put in their bid in the hopes that no-one else will notice.

It's why I don't bother bidding on e-bay until the last 24 hours of an item really. And have to sit there during its last minute constantly refreshing a window to make sure I don't get 'sniped' at. Bloody annoying.

Nah, I don't think the Anime style would suit 2000AD characters - urrgghh, could anyone imagine Durham Red as a Superdeformed character?

Something along the lines of the Batman Animated Series style would be nice though...
