Stargate without travel?

Still wish they finish off Universe
God no. SG1 was great fun as was Atlantis. Universe was poor from the off imo

Professor Bear

They already did a prequel to Stargate.  It was called 10,000BC.

Admittedly this doesn't sound like it can amount to much, but you never know.  Unlike Star Trek, if this does turn out to be gash, it's not like we'll have to sit through very much of it.

I'd go with that.  They took a really interesting concept, a quality actor and then stripped out all of the best bits of Stargate, added in a selection of annoying characters and served up some of the most banal stories imaginable.  How it made it to the second series is beyond me.

Professor Bear

At that point, SGU was all that was left of the Stargate franchise, so MGM had to give it another season and hope that ratings improved, otherwise their franchise was toast.

The Legendary Shark

Another vote for finishing off Universe from me. Not sure about this new old short thing, though. The Stargate is such a great concept - I'd love to see it merged with some kind of Star Trek Galactic Federation set up. Jack and Jim in the same reality? What could possibly go wrong...?
