There's quite a positive write up in this months Edge magazine, too. It gets 7/10, but you have to consider that Edge has a very 'harsh but fair' review policy. A game getting 5/10, for instance, is not a 'bad' game, merely an average one. Very few ever get a 9/10 or higher.

No-one in Souther (that's SOUTH-ER, btw) high command believes the story about there being a traitor general, so the official reason the GIs were wiped out at the Quartz Zone Massacre was because they were just crap.

Basically, they're an expensive R&D failure; a faulty experimental weapon that failed disasterously on its first field test, and so the production line was closed down immediately afterwards.

We never actually get told any of this in the original stories, but it fits the known facts.
