Do you have an ad-blocker running on the your new laptops browser?

So when you click reply etc do you not get the row of smilies to embed? or can you not actually embed them?

Bing, like Google, is the web page for a search engine you use to find stuff on the internet. The browser is the software used to display that web page to you. It's a fairly safe bet that you're running whatever is set as the default browser -- I would imagine Edge, especially if Bing is your default search engine.

I'd be surprised if the forum doesn't work with a stock install of Windows, but it may be worth installing either Firefox or Chrome to see if the forum works better. FWIW, I liked Firefox far more than Edge when I was using Windows 10 on my Surface Pro.

Is it possible you have javascript turned off somehow? You'd need it on to embed.

If JS was disabled the smilies wouldn't show up at all
