How likely is it that they reprint this meg? Or Should I look on ebay?

Going for like £15 at the moment on ebay lol.

So I just finished the recent Chopper volume and I am a little bit confused. Spoilers incoming

How did they bring him back? Was it a retcon?

Really enjoyed the volume though one of my favourites so far, bit weird how they have chopped and changed Choppers story with releasing Oz first. Also really enjoyed Underworld with the whole martial arts thing with Stan Lee and Tempest.

Kingdom was awesome, beautiful artwork and great story. The unique dialogue is also really thought out and gets stuck in your head. This and Shakara are awesome, after the 9th delivery gift I may cancel and then pick up issues I want though. I can't take reading any more Slaine, Savage. or others I am not too keen on.

I wish Rogue Trooper volume came out close to when the new game came out would of added to it.

So are they still doing the ten book extension to 90 books?

I really enjoyed the Judge child follow up recent book. I never knew how Dredd lost his eyes and now I know, pretty fun story.

IT's annoying that the Shakara volume I got has like 8 blurry pages where the art and speech bubbles are too blurry to see. I had it in like 1 or 2 pages in the Mega collection out of 60 books but to have it like 8 pages in one book is weird. Might have to buy it again since the art is stunning, anyone else have this problem? I don't want to buy it again and have the same problem. I bought it from a news agents so don't really want a refund.

Yes for me there is no doubt that Colin MacNeil is right up there as true 2000AD legend.

His best stuff is just about as good as it gets. I know it is common for Bisley to be lauded for the Horned God but for me MacNeil's painted work (e.g America book 1 and Mechanimo book 1) is just as good.

The grey scale work on Insurrection books 1 and 2 is about as good black and white art as I have seen. I class it along side Bolland's Judge Death Lives and Fabry's Slaine The King as the best ever from the house of Tharg.

But, but....given how good his best is, I am always slightly disappointed when he merely does line work, whether it's the coloured stuff we have been getting on Dredd these last few years or the black and white stuff on Insurrection book 3.

But I know, I know...the painted  and grey scale stuff takes too long. So better to get far more of the line work style I guess.

Yeah his art is stunning but the stand out artist for me was Carlos. Seeing that Apocalypse war story for the first time was nuts the art was out of this world. That double splash page with the war in full swing was just mental must have took him ages with all that detail. Necropolis was insane as well, I think both of those stories without Carlos wouldn't be the same. Insurrection by Macneil is a close second though. Mike Mcmahon's cursed earth in a close third as well. This whole collection has had some stunning art.

I might cave in and subscribe, I just bought Shakara and if it is really good I'll sub I think. Just annoying the Mega collection is still coming out. The biggest issue is not cost but space since I got the Marvel collection and got about 60 issues with that lol, and the Dredd one is filling up space.

I feel your 'pain' I have the Marvel collection running at the moment, as well as the JD one, the 2000 AD one, The Doctor Who one, the DC graphic novel collection plus near the end of the build a millennium falcon and 30 issues into build an R2-D2.
Just throw out some furniture, sit on the floor, man up, and read.
Jeez, it aint hard  ;)

hahahahaha. I wanted to get the DC collection it actually has a lot of really good volumes tbh, You on like issue 160 on the Marvel collection now? lol.

Yeah I'm gunna sub today you have convinced me. Who needs a bed frame when I can just neatly stack my Hachette partworks to make a bed frame and put a mattress on top.

I might only subscribe for 20 issues since I only really want the Sketch book you get on the 9th delivery. I will then probably pick and choose what I then get, probably get ones like Rogue Trooper, Strontium Dog, Nemesis, Sinister Dexter, and might try out the odd collections I've never read.

Will Button Man feature do you think? Hopefully there is no Zenith since I have them.

The spine has nothing to do with the contents. It's the one big failing of this and the 2000 AD books (versus the Marvel ones, which at least show the characters on the spines). And, yes, the Tour of Duty arc was bafflingly released out of sequence.

Thanks for the info.

I was trying to look up what Hachette did when they finished a graphic novel collection. I was thinking they might give you a special gift on the last delivery like a poster/list of what each book contained. But then I see they still haven't finished a collection yet though, the Marvel collection they do is going on to like issue 170 haha. Glad I cancelled the Marvel one on like Issue 60.

Mutants in Mega-City One. Oh my. I've been looking forward to this one for ages, and it's now sitting next to #47 and #48, which I've managed to avoid reading, to take the entire thing in one hit.

Is Mutants of Mega city one the start of the three books then? (46, 47, 48) I wish I had known this before reading the other two first, they shipped them out of order which I haven't noticed them do before tbh.

Do you think they will release like a glossary of the sections of the books? I can't really remember if the spine art is meant to correspond with what's in the actual books or not lol. Would be nice to have a list with all the title names of each book matched with their issue number.

I'm gunna have to wait a while till 18 books in a row are good, as I really really want that sketch book in good condition. Is this the same sketch book as the free item you get on the 9th delivery:

https://shop.2000ad.com/catalogue/merchandise/XB521

Looks like it tbh. Can you start your subscription from any book at any time? If I wait like 9 months can I start it from issue 3 for instance? I just want a clear run without a Nikolai Dante or Slaine volume. I want to read some Rogue trooper after that awesome 10 page story in prog 2050 this week.

Haven't finished it all yet but so far it is really fun read.

Dredd story was really good, and looking forward to future parts to the story. Not sure who the guy is who helps the people hide should we know him from previous progs?

Rogue Trooper: After listening to the Thrillcast podcast I was really looking forward to this and it delivered above my expectations. The art was amazing and the story was really well done. Hopefully get more of this soon.

Zenith: I thought it was going to be its own strip for some reason :-(. I wish Zenith was ageless to be honest, a bit like DC and Marvel Superheroes where the times change but the heroes don't really age. I'd prefer something where since he is super powered he ages slower. I'd prefer him as a cocky youth in todays times.

Haven't read any of the rest yet.

I'm already getting the Mega collection so I think I'll just buy volumes off of Hachette's site tbh. I really really want the sketch book you get free on the 9th delivery though, hopefully someone Ebay's it >.<. I've already picked up the first 2 volumes at my local store not sure how long they will put them out for maybe up to issue 10 or so, the Mega collection didn't last too long in stores for me.

I think I will pick up:

Sinister Dexter all volumes (Only read new stuff prog 1900 plus)
Rogue Trooper (never read)
Strontium dog (All volumes, read little bits)
Kingdom
Shakara (Never read)
Nemesis the Warlock (Never read)
Durnham Red (Never Read)

Probably dodging:

Slaine
Stickleback
Zombo (Read them all)
Nikolai Dantae (Not my thing, tried didn't like)

Anyone recommend me any to look out for?

Will there be any ULYSSES SWEET? For some reason I really enjoyed that strip that started in prog 1912

Speaking of Hachette partworks, I've had a lot more fun reading the Judge Dredd collection than the Marvel one they also did. I got bored midway through and cancelled the Marvel one. With this one I have never thought of cancelling it, it has the odd dud now and again but most of them have been gems which I never would have read and would reread in the future.
