just in case anyone's interested, my first whole American comic will be on the shelves this thursday! Elephantmen issue#21 'KILL!KILL!KILL!' written by Rich Starkings and drawn by me is a pretty kick-ass outing and 'an ideal jumping on point' as they say. for anyone unfamiliar with the Elephantmen universe, it's much more 2000AD in style than your average American comic and features massive genetically engineered battle-beasts and their attempts to integrate with post war society - 'blade runner meets taxi driver', as they also say...

for more info check out the elephantics at :

or me blog:

cheers for the comments chaps!

with regards to mr. happy (funt solo), points taken , but i think you could be reviewing it as a website , not an 'online space-hub' which this, technically speaking , is...

unfortunately the toonz are my own , but i did get help with the last 3 , which are slightly less disturbing......

did i put some anderson in there? forgot about that  - oops.......

News / Boo's Elephantmen 'Wartoys' covers...

hi folks!

should anyone fancy a sneaky peek at my latest stuff for Image , you can check it here :

http://www.comicraft.com/clients/EMwartoys01_03.jpg

it's for a 3 part off-shoot from the main title , relating the as yet unseen 'war years'-- anyone unfamiliar with the world of Elephantmen/Hipflask can get good brainstuff at www.hipflask.com too!

in my humble opinion , Elephantmen is a superb comic, with a very '2000AD' feel/sentiment , and is infact written and put together by AD veteran Richard Starkings - can you dig it? CAAAN YOOUUUUUU DIIIG IIIIIIT?

also i can confirm that as of issue #12 of Elephantmen 'proper' , i shall be taking over from the exceptionally  mighty Mr.Ladronn as cover artist, leaving him more time to concentrate on the Hipflask strip...

needless to say , i've been doing my little dance ; )

cheers!

man that was a good night....paying for it now mind...

a cute pre-bristol warm-up,and some great verbal mayhem was shared. discovered that jeff wayne just isn't quite funky enough to really let rip , but al certainly brought the funk to new a level...

had my hands washed by smiley tony  - they should've made him wear a tharg mask or summink...

i was really getting into the swing o things when i had to leave for my train - which i missed , then had to walk the streets of london like a confused ralph mc.tell, being refused entry to gay bars etc. til 4am then went to gatwick for some real fun , bought some beers from m&s (it wasn't just beer - it was cold smooth luxuriously wet india pale ale)and shared them with 'che', a mechanic from tooting.....got home at 6.45am....

nice.

see yas at brizzle!

hi folks - just spotted this thread!

i love doin' b+w strips - so far , these consist of 3 future shocks ; 'home from the war' , 'earthworks' , and 'goldilocke and the 3 bears' . also there was a.b.c. warriors 'the zero option' , - kinda wish i'd been handed that gig now!(now i can use pens).

for the record - i'm with kirby on the whole 'once the story telling is done (i.e. pencils) hand it over to someone else to finish , and head on to the next project' - well it would be nice to have that much work , but i mostly end up colouring mine for financial reasons , plus the fact that i wanted to try and 'arrive' on the scene and stick in folks brains more readily - i would love to ink a strip on screen and hand it over to a colourist, then i won't get blamed for the 'murk'.....

i coloured both asylums , but part 2 needed a little more emotional maturity , so i developed my painty style for it...

painting strips is kinda painstaking , but i'm honing it down gradually whilst attempting to retain some aspect of 'wow factor' - i've been working on 2 new dredds in paint - one for the prog , one for the meg , but have also recently got my first gig for image comics - 3 covers for 'elephantmen - wartoys!' coming in the summer....

much fun am i having currently......

cheers for the interest - see you at the party!

what-ho chaps and chap-esses...

due to the lack of spurious returns on this thread , i thought i'd pipe up and get my tuppence in...

firstly i'd like to thank folk for their constructive criticism on the recent kipling - i've done my best to understand it all and a lot of you have some serious points about the art which i have taken on board - mainly , a bit less technicolour , less over detail in the shading(i'm tryin i tell ya!) , and a bit less sketchy - altho , in my defence at the start of kipling i was getting a month to do five pages and now i get 2 weeks - so something had to give......i'm just about to get started on some new kipling , so expect some 'tweaks' here n there....with regards to the latest story arc , i'll fully admit i found myself getting a wee bit lost around the middle , but i made a concerted effort to sort things in part 4.

harry's pals are 'klux' - who is about as visually obvious as it gets , and 'neesha vek' , who is indeed green.

there is a lot going on in harry kipling as a whole , and quite a lot of this arc refers back to stuff that happened ages ago - making it a prime candidate for a re-read , so please do!

again, thankyou all for your comments , and normal service will be resumed shortly!

boo ; )
