The wording had me confused, because as you said Al and PJ aren't "established" in the States, but it's the bit about "breaking in new talent". Obviously these guys aren't "new" and don't need "breaking in". I guess if they're going to work on something else they should clarify that. That just caught my eye so I thought I should post it here.

I read his post to mean that he's talking about pros who are very widely known - ie published by one of the big two.

please PM me.

Has your mail been blown up yet, Kev?
Not really.

Dog Deever, you naughty man, I'm not just interested in shirt potatoes!

I feel really really bad for trying to pick and choose what I'd like to draw, but I had a bad experience recently with something I should have been able to do but just couldn't get right, it made me doubt myself, so I'm trying to proceed with caution.

I'd really like to do something in the 2000AD style, good girly character like Halo, Lulu and IMO Synnamon...
Sci-Fi or other world-y, well that's my preference anyway.

Millar keeps saying "first come, first served".

Which may not bode well for the one-page entries already placed... :'(.

I disagree. I think he started a new thread because the old one was clogged up with stuff that he couldn't print -- random art samples, odd pages from people's web comics, and other bizarre crap. Definitely worth persevering with, though, since he actually says that the people who start out doing shorts can expect to do them for a year, and then he'll be looking to graduate some of them to ongoing strips in year two ...

Cheers

Right. Millar's picked one.

He's said that's a definite hire, so now you know. Best get cracking, then, eh?

Cheers!

Saw that and thought it was perfect, both retro and modern and is, essentially, some potty humour...

edited to add: and the art is really nice - good lineart and strong colours...

Smarty

no one wants to take up my offer as artist for this? I promise I'll be nice...

Yeah, but they DO need to edit out "Planet PeePee" on the first page, which somewhat telegraphs the payoff!

Cheers

Yup, it's hitting the right tone that for sure, made me laugh anyway.

Nice stuff, but what you're experiencing is that you are an unknown quantity to this board, someone should definitely want to work with you 'cos you're good, but you're only showing a limited amount of sequential stuff on your blog, so perhaps people are cautious as a result.
