This is why Pat Mills was right when he said creators and editors should ignore what the fans think and just do what they think is best.

Certainly a very British, Pythonesque/Terry Gilliam surrealist approach to the material could be interesting.
Striking the right tonal balance, between the serious and more absurdly satirical elements will be a challenge.

Very excited to see what they cook up!  :)

Just rewatched Brazil a couple months ago too, Terry would a great influence to have for the look of this on film, for sure.

Yeah, Brazil was exactly what I was thinking of!

In the main, probably the right approach!

One of my favourite films!

Yeah, it's a classic!  :)

I'm not talking the look necessarily more on the tone on how the film balanced humour, satire with Orwellian horror.

People didn't see the film because they didn't know it was on. It's a marketing issue. People who have seen it like it.
I didn't see it and I knew it was on. Being a member of this board, I am obviously a fan of Dredd but I have yet to see the 2012 film because I just don't like the 'look' of it. I understand it to be very good from everyone's opinion but it just doesn't interest me. There must be many other people less aware of Dredd than myself who would similaraly glance at it and think it is not for them.

One of the most surprising comments I've read!

I can't see as a confessed Dredd fan you wouldn't want to watch it!
Perplexing, to say the least!
What if you don't like the "look" of the TV show, you going to skip that too?  :o

Admittedly, I do seem to be in a minority here, but I'm really not a fan of Brazil.

I was preparing for backlash.......😊

Pretty much didn't like anything about the film 😂

SIP

Brazil is one of those films that I've watched and wondered what I had missed that everyone else saw that often earns it the "best film ever made" comments......so I rewatch thinking it'll suddenly click with me. Still not taken to it at this point.

Oh, i also really don't like Taxi driver. Something I am also assured is "the best film ever!".

Anyway, Dredd TV series, awesome!!! 😊

Magnetica

I've posted it before (and got pelters ) and I'll repeat it here:

Brazil is my least favourite film. Of all time.

Please don't make Judge Dredd Mega City One like it. In anyway. Whatsoever.
